Yes, he is the coach of the New York Jets, and would make a great choice for KC...if they can get him! He played for Peterson at Phillie!

Ok...DUH! I know who the hell he is...BUT WHY!

Charlie

He is an outstanding coach stuck with a crappy team! Like I said, one of Carl Peterson's boys....GM of Chiefs!

Sigh... i'll field this one FOR Charlie.

He is a good choice because he is a defensive minded coach. He was a defensive back and was a pretty damn good defensive coordinator, which lead him to his head coaching position.

The Chiefs can't play defense. They need to get better on defense and who better to improve them where they need it, but a defensive minded coach?

That's why Herman Edwards.

*This isn't MY thinking, this is what the talking heads on TV are going to tell you. It's rational, I guess, but i'm with you Beat... Why? The Jets weren't all that impressive on defense either. What would make one think he'd do better in KC?

Charlie

Actually KC's defense played great at times but they were horrible against the pass! Run defense was good and actually either 4th or 5th best in league, but why would anybody want to run against them? Pass the ball and move it, and hope to outscore them! With a sounder defense they would have been anywhere from 14-2 to 11-5 team and made the playoffs!

What once was the hallmark of KC football, defense, is now the weakness! They will improve next year!

Besides black or African/American football coaches are trendy in the NFL today! A good choice on that count as well!

I admire your positive outlook...

I just dont think hes much of a coach.

He HAD a good team in NY when he got there. Now it ISNT. QB issues aside, he's wishy washy and doesnt seem to have very good gameday instincts. he always looks lost to me on the sideline. Great RAH RAH cheerleader guy, but that dun make the playoffs.

I just hope to the football gods that the Vikings make a better choice.

Well, at least they can't pick him.

Charlie

The Vikings are due a good choice for a change, since they have not had a decent coach since Bud Grant!

The Chiefs care very much about winning, why else did they go and get ****** Vermeil out of retirement? Just did not get them to the Super Bowl, but Herman Edwards will have all the players he did not have in NY....this will be a winning combination! I just hope they can pull it off!
