i do respect your philosophy. years ago i had a very interesting conversation with a member of the four square church in la. she had a very interesting insight about religion. she said, if she believes and accept her religion, she must discount everyone else's, or the absoluteness of her faith is invalid. she also said because i don't believe in anything of a religious nature, i can listen to and accept any point of view. she also said i was mostly full of crap.

Democratic Sen. Paul Wellstone, his wife Sheila and daughter Marcia died Friday in a small plane crash near Eveleth, Minnesota, that also killed three staff members and two pilots. Mr. Wellstone was one of the oddest acting senators, but his crazyness is was made him loved. The two-term Democrat was known for taking stands that defied the prevailing political winds, such as his recent vote against a resolution authorizing the use of force in Iraq (YAY, we have no bis. being there) or his vote against the 1996 Welfare Reform Act. THE LEFTYS MISS YA PAUL!!!!!!!!!

Straight across the board Republican...
Small business owner, legal services, 22 years worth.
Individual rights, limitations on police powers and stronger states rights.

I would have to say Clinton is the WORST we have ever had and her husband, Hillary too.

I have associates that were military officers charged with overseeing the proper safety and operation of our military aircraft. I recall stories over stogies about having to rob circuit breakers off a " plane on a stick" at a roadside state park because "Herr Slickster's" budget slashing had cut off funding for a logistics branch that supplied the parts. The parts cost less than the cleaning bill on the blue dress.

I also know military officers that waited out his presidency as they did not want his signature to appear on their " retirement papers".

Yep, Clinton was by far the worse! I can direct you to some declassified DEA reports if you ever have a doubt he was pudgy belly deep in the drug trade in Arkansas.

BTW..I love cigar trade.. two smoke shops emailed me to see if I was sick as they have not seen me in a couple of weeks.

I have to disagree strongly with Tail's stance on abortion, being STRONGLY PRO CHOICE myself.

The child, legally, being the party most directly affected by the abortion, and the child should have first "CHOICE" but only after reaching the legal age of majority or having been declaired an adult through emancapation.
THEN,and only then should the child, now an adult, be given the choice to be born or not.

Fiscal Conservative, Social Liberal. If you take care of the population, making sure they are well educated and healthy, you will have a strong, technologicly capable workforce who will bring more to the economy and neihborhoods then if they are sick and stupid. Spend a little now to save a lot later.

Republican leaning Liberarian. This is not only a political philosophy, it's a life philosopy (i'm sure the right wingers will agree). I will do it. I will succeed. I can. And I will. 'I' is the key word here.... never we. I will make my own decisions.
To me this is the only appropriate attidude for living. I find it nessacary to surround my self with the same sort of people... do'ers, and acheivers who are at it alone, and wouldn't have it any other way.

Right wing.

Military good. Social security bad. abortion bad. prayer in schools, bad (ne ESTABLISHMENT of religion). God Bless America on school bilboards, GOOD. Executions Good. Guns, good(but I support the machine gun ban (fully-automatic weapons), tho not the assault weapons ban). Farm bill, bad. Clinton bad. Reagan Good. Jimmy carter, great heart, could be good if he had taken like one history class and one economics class. He is a moron, and a coward. I am conservative on EVERYTHING.

Peace is not the absence of conflict, it is the presence of liberty, free markets, justice.

My Tax System (adaopted from sean Hannity's book)

15% flat tax. Generous personal deductions of $15,000. $5,000 child deductions. $5,000 MARRIAGE deductions.

I am right. you are left, and wrong.

I'll have to agree with dang near all of that ...except executions.. The criminal court system is BROKEN and is not likely to be fixed.Until is at least, " better" executions should be suspended.
After 22 years in that field in the Southern states I can share some horror stories about justice being purchased and denied based on the dollar that will make you gag.

Cutter, I've had my share of vocal opposition to the abortion issue, and welcome your input.
Letting the child "decide", however, is not an option (as you know). But if you'd like to run with that theory, shouldn't you assume that the baby would want to be born? If not, the state should perform abortions on all "unfit" mothers. Afterall, not only is the mother not capable of making the decision, but if ever a child would actually NOT want to be born those would be the ones.
Further, perhaps Andrea Yates should be set free. Afterall, her kids weren't "adults", and all she did was "choose" for them.
But I'm glad you refer to the unborn as a child. Too many hide behind the word "fetus", perhaps to shield themselves from the reality of the situation.

On a legal note, please answer this:
If a mugger stabs a pregnant woman and kills the baby (not the mother) is it murder? What if she were on her way to get an abortion?

In a perfect world, abortion would indeed be legal. Because in a perfect world, it would never be used.

tailgater - I agree whole heartedly with your perfect world statement, unfortunately we're far from it, but that's why I think abortion should be legal. A difference of opinion for sure, but I'll agree to disagree...

Do you support the pro-life protestors that have killed abortion doctors? Not inplying anything just wondering.

Fair question.
The pro-life extremists who kill abortion doctors are the worst kind of hypocrates to ever live. They deserve a swift injection to end their own sorry existence.
I also abhor the picketing protestors outside abortion clinics. Last I looked, it is still legal.
My biggest complaint with the abortion issue isn't the legality or even the morality.
It's the vocal proponents who have desensitized the nation into believing it is simply a "choice".

The liberal agenda to give a female the ultimate in choice has resulted in laws on the books which would allow young girls to get the procedure without parental consent. Girls who aren't old enough to buy cigarettes are somehow mature enough to "choose".
And a would-be father has no say.
Society has come down hard on "deadbeat dads", but we embrace their moral equivalents of the fairer sex.

Political philosophy...could that be an oxy-moron? I guess I must refer to Dr.M, as I have similar beliefs. As a libertarian, I have been compelled to vote republican, only because a third party vote is a waste, and the democrat's political philosophy of government nipple sucking has developed a third generation of people with their hands out. Don't get me wrong, republicans aren't far behind, but IMHO they are the lesser of the two. Furthermore, the federal government has become way too powerful. Our founding fathers would shed a tear if they could see the abuse.

I grew up in a left wing democrat family from the DC area. How I got to my political beliefs started in college when my roomate suggested I read Ayn Rand. If you want true vision and prognostication, I make the same suggestion.

5Augie ... I must agree with your recommendation to read Ayn Rand ... Atlas Shrugged is an extraordinarily powerful work and is, if anything, even MORE relevant today than it was when it was written ... but, because teachers are a very liberal-thinking crowd, it is not the required reading it should be for any student capable of clear thought.
