Post 13 is hilarious. Beck not lying? Proper investigative reporting? Because, as he stated, "I can't lie because I'm saying this on tv."

Ever notice how the advertisers during Beck are all pushing "free" medicaid chairs and fat people mobility devices that can be "gotten for free?"

Old, stupid, food stamp using white people watch Beck. Money making genius that man is.

If Glen Beck was out of line on anything he said, he'd be open to a defamation lawsuit. Soros is in the position to bleed both Beck and Fox News dry in court.

But he doesn't.

And do you (dssmoking) NOT think the left would love to hurt Fox & Beck financially? The fing WHITEHOUSE has gone after his sponsors....

Say what you will about Murdoch the Aussie likes money, and I'm betting Becks boss was making sure there was no lawsuit.

Can you defend Soros the money changer?

Beck constantly pushes his viewers to sell their collectibles and gold. During one week, on three occaisions, he LIED and said they would need to report them in 2011, so they needed to hurry up. His "facts" were based upon reports from NIA and Wall Street Grand. Then his viewers got to see "invest in gold" commercials during the break. These same companies (NIA and Wall Street Grand) were the advertisers.

Sell your gold there's a financial crisis!
During the break we'll show you some companies that will buy it from you. They pay our bills.

Do you still not get it when I say he robs from little old ladies?

By the way, I noticed a couple of "sell your gold" threads here. Guess we have a few little old ladies on board?

Sell you gold, buy lotto tickets, that's my advice.

So you don't have issues with what Beck says from a political perspective, but you are calling him out as a liar because of some advertising scam?

I was hoping you had a little more meat to your claims.

Carry on.
Nothing to see here.
Move along.

Of course I have issues with his political views. As I mentioned above, Beck is nothing more than an advertising tool that is used to lure in and sell primarily to middle to elderly aged white people in the middle to lower classes. Sort of like this board we are chatting on now. Look up, notice all those shiney banners to remind you of the not one, but FIVE DIFFERENT types of sales you can track? Just like those shiney banners that roll across Fox News all day.

Fox spends more money than any other media outlet on state of the art flashy bling to keep its vicadin dazed audiences attention. Then they nail them with advertising for electric scooters, economy cars, and places to sell their gold. Beck acts like a child on his show because of it's appeal to the very demographic I mentioned above. Pure GENIUS on Fox's behalf. I totally hand it to them.

So yes, I have issues with his politics. Why? Because how can you trust anything or anyone who's sole purpose is to get you to spend your money (or MINE in the case of your free electric scooter or medicaid paid blood sugar counter for your fat lazy white bum)?

Anyway, that's my two cents. It's an advertising outlet. I don't care for it.

First, what specific "bling" are you talking about?

Second, MSNBC also advertised electric scooters, economy cars, and gold on their network.

Maybe you need to stop pleasuring yourself with pictures of Ted Kennedy while you post?

So you don't understand the concept of Fox's "bling," you have no opinion since someone else does it too, and you throw out really silly insults to whomever can't reach out and smack you upside your fat head face to face. Nice. You're a really class act there dude.

Here's a newsflash for you, dsmokers:
Television networks are in the business of making money.

Shhhh.
Let's keep it a secret so the "other" networks (ie NOT foxnews) don't find out.

OR, and this is just a hypothetical here, perhaps the other stations DO advertise.
But you don't "hate" on them because they don't have right wing hosts who dare call out the emperor for skipping around sans-skivvies.

Also, for my own edification please, how does Becks childish antics "appeal to the very demographic" you mentioned above??
I never knew that "middle to elderly aged white people in the middle to lower classes" liked childish behavior.

Maybe that's how Justin Beiber won at the music awards?

Or maybe, just MAYBE, you have no clue about what you're talking about.
Because that same demographic alos like the NON childish hosts on foxnews.
So perhaps it's the conservative angle rather than the antics?

IBut I'm sure I'm wrong somehow. So I'll let you enlighten us with your mastery of marketing 101.

Tailgater,
I point out why Beck does what he does, and how effective it is, and you reply by giving me a lesson in why Beck does what he does, yet you try to explain why it ISN'T effective. So which is it? Are the news channel in the business to make money and Beck is a great advertising tool, or are they in the business to make money and Beck is NOT a good money making tool? You can't argue both, although doing so gives you better chance of defending them. Which makes me wonder, WHY are you defending them? Are you on their payroll? Or are you simply one of their pawns that sees the subliminal banners, hears the voiceovers, and like the robot that you are, you blindly puff up your chest to anyone or anything that questions the great advertising giant....FOX NEWS. Which is it?

Lumpa,
The way take a discussion regarding the demographic of an advertiser, and somehow turn it into a racial debate speaks volumes about both your intellect and the place where your heart lies. Quit being so simple minded. Think deeper than just gnashing your teeth when someone says something you either don't understand, or can't understand.

I can't answer if you don't ask a coherent question.

Where did I "try to explain why it ISN'T effective"?

Let me start over.

YOU stated that Beck appeals to old white hop-a-longs by acting childish.
I cited facts that dispell your myth.

That's not defending a position. It's simply pointing out your short-sighted impressions in a thread filled with your otherwise pretentious blathering.

I expect my foxnews paycheck before the end of the month.
Carry on.

Dude, stay focused. You've now narrowed this discussion to whether or not it's only old white people that watch FOX and whether or not you clearly cited facts to dispute that.

How did we end up there? My original post discussed Beck being nothing more than an advertising tool built on selling to the demographic that he appeals to.

Can we go back to him being an advertising tool and try to stay on topic? How about we address my post line by line?
snowwolf777

So I should quit watching the Super Bowl, because it's "an advertising tool built on selling to the demographic that (it) appeals to."

I see it all now. I gotta quit watching The Office, NASCAR, all news programs ... wait a minute ...

HOLY HELL! Yumpin' Yesus! The code has been cracked!

I just now realized that virtually all TV shows have advertisers, unless the show itself is an advertisement, like for a set of really cool knives, or QVC, which is a show that's really a 24-hour ad that poses as a show. And (stay with me), I bet in all these cases, they're trying sell to that particular show's demographic.

I gotta mix me a drink and think about this one.
