Exactly. It makes no sense to sound proud that you won't let anyone pay your insurance...as long as you have a job and the company is willing to do that, rather than having someone pay your insurance in the form of welfare because you won't get a job. My insurance is paid for, but I know all the rates, and see the increases, and it still pi$$es me off becuase it effects things in a lot of other areas. And I know that the increases, most times, are NOT justifiable. In most cases, it's just the insurance company saying "another year has passed, we're jacking your rates up 20% (and probably more) just because we can," even though they could probably cut rates by 30% (or more) and still see millions upon millions of dollars in profit.




Reduced rates for volume? LOL I guess that works for some companies. I just haven't figured out who, unless they have like 500+ employees, because I don't think we're getting any breaks in premiums. For the better health plan in our group, it cost almost the same as yours, actually a little more, and that's just for health insurance. It doesn't include vision and dental...plus, our copay is a little more. That's with BCBS..just like you. Maybe BCBS is sticking it to us and passing the savings on to YOU? Because we certainly don't see our premiums as being at a reduced rate. Heck, it's actually cheaper for an individual to get a comparable BCBS policy outside the group plan. So I'm not sure your point makes much sense...at least not in this part of the country.
