What does praying have to do with finding a trucking job? If you want a trucking job all you have to do is call a terminal manager and apply. In Springfield, MO I could have a full time trucking job paying me $55,000 - $75,000 a year in less then a week and I would be home every night, and around these parts that is good money. In all my years driving I've learned a few things and one thing is for sure, if an OTR driving wants to be home he can be home. A lot of guys like to whine & complain and tell people they want to be home but in reality they don't want to deal with their family so they stay gone. You might be able to convince a non driver that you can't find a job, but a driver knows that there are always jobs if you have a clean record and good work ethic. Also if a local job pays less then an OTR job then you cut back on expenses, because spending time with your kids is way more important then jamming gears.

Yeah I don't think I will be giving that out to random people on an internet forum. I will say this Dayton, Estes, Overnight, ABF, UPS, FedEx, YRC, Dohrn & Old Dominion & many others all run around the area and most start day peddlers at $22-$28 an hour. So considering $26 straight time for 40 and time & a half for 10 every week you rake in around $74,000 a year. The last full time peddler job I did I worked from 4am to 4pm and it was fantastic and the money was even better!

Spoken like a true industry expert right there..............In the biz we call them DISPATCHERS/RECRUITERS.BTW which are you???I'm leaning towards you being a dispatcher............the whole bullsh*t lines you use point me in that direction.

Those companies cigarsmoker refuses to mention on an internet forum are those class outfits located in and around Springfield.........like SWIFT,PRIME,STEVENS and so many other loser outfits that hire only non-driving candidates for THEIR driving school. These truly are the pride of Americas trucking force.......any of them will have you thru their school in 3 weeks(where you'll learn how to back up)and out on the road endangering the entire travelling public with your very own 53 ft dry van/reefer in no time at all. Most of these jobs start at somewhere in the .29-.33 CPM range...............our wonderful gubment subsidizes .25 CPM of all new graduates for 1 year.So in reality the wonderful trucking companies cigarsmoker speaks of endanger yours and my families life.....and it only cost them .04 to .09 cpm.WHAT A DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CS.....I suggest you go blow your smoke up someone elses keister.

Ron - WTF are you talking about? I didn't mention those lines for a few reasons and you pointed out one of them. I suggest you learn to read and you can do that at any local community college, and I'm sure with Obama being in office you can get a grant of some kind. I was simply pointing out a fact that an OTR driver that whines about wanting home time isn't really wanting home time because a good driver with a clean record can ALWAYS find a local job.
