The NAACP just doesn't know when to keep their mouth shut.
They are their own worst enemy, and they create issues where none exist.

I just read where the group is complaining that Kid Rock uses the Confederate Flag during his stage performance.

This is Kid Rock we're talking about here.
Love him or hate him, sensitivity isn't his calling card.
I've got his Rock n Roll Jesus CD and there's a song where the lyrics go something like this:
"...f*ck her in the nose; f*ck her in the toes"

And then he:
"f*cks hot p*ssy until it's cold"

So let's just agree that his music and/or show could indeed offend some people.

So why does a prominent group like the NAACP take such a ridiculous stance against a guy who may be a lot of things, but growing up in the Detroit rap music scene, a racist is likely not one of them.
And even if he were, a simple flag isn't cause for concern.

Well said. I despise what they say in much rap music (it's not all bad). The musicians (and many other blacks) throw around the N-word yet get angry and call me a racist if I use it. Think about all the words in the English language and all the other races: What other words exist that only one race/sex/creed/etc can use and no one else is allowed?

It won't be long before the Dukes of Hazzard are removed from TV because of the flag and rebel music.

I say clean up your own front yard before you start worrying about your neighbors yard.......

What I just read on the matter is that **some members** of the Detroit NAACP are uncomfortable giving him an award that is to be presented at an upcoming charity dinner. They definitely have a right to complain and not to attend the dinner if the flag symbolizes something negative to them. They can also skip his shows. On the other hand, the Confederate Flag deeply upsets some people. Here in Central Florida, the Confederate Flag is displayed by red-neck bigots and the Klan. 😣
