Ah yes, backing off from your 'minorities' position I see with the 'I know white people who couldn't get 'something' because of a minority' argument. If I've seen it once, I've seen it 1,000 times, and 999 of those times the story is complete BS.

"I have a friend of a friend whose cousin was going for a job and a black guy got the job instead even though he wasn't as qualified." And other similar stories. Everyone of your obvious political leanings has a few of those 'stories'. /yawn

As much as you don't think it happens Fuzz, it does, more than just one in 1000... True, there are a lot of BS stories out there pertaining to these examples...

Illegal immigration is a problem for sure but, until we fix the second, and third generation welfare recipient situation, we won't fix anything... There are people that have never known anything but welfare, and Government "assistance". To me, that is waste.

Fuzz, when the swedes become our immigration problem, then we'll be targeting the blue eyed blondes. Until then, get used to the fact that latinos and other minorities are mentioned when discussing immigration.

As for your repeated anti-Cuba comments above?
I find it ironic that you include this country in your retort, when it wasn't that long ago that you applauded them for their supposedly wonderful healthcare system.
You can't have it both ways*

*I should probably rephrase that...

Seems like we're going to solve the problem this time by making the US a place no one would want to come to anyway.

The comments I made about Cuba above weren't either anti or pro. Mcbryde's were pro for all those countries in the OP on the border issue saying he thought they were doing a good job. I suggested the conservatives use it as a campaign slogan. I also did not applaud a wonderful healthcare system, I did, however, say that they were able to at least provide basic healthcare for all their citizens, something that we can't do and something that I consider a moral failing for the US.

I AM NOT ALLOWED TO VACATION IN SAUDI ARABIA.

WHEN I WORE THE UNIFORM OF THE USAF I COULD NOT BE STATIONED ON AN AMERICAN AIR BASE IN SAUDI ARABIA.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was founded by Abdul-Aziz bin Saud (known in the West as Ibn Saud) in 1932, although the conquests which eventually led to the creation of the Kingdom began in 1902 when he captured Riyadh, the ancestral home of his family, the House of Saud, referred to in Arabic as the Al Saud. Saudi Arabia's government takes the form of an Islamic absolute monarchy. The kingdom is sometimes called "The Land of the Two Holy Mosques" in reference to Mecca and Medina, the two holiest places in Islam. The two mosques are Masjid al-Haram (in Mecca), and Al-Masjid al-Nabawi (in Medina).

Tonight begins Yom Yerushalayim, Jerusalem Day. It celebrates the day in 1967 that the IDF returned the Old Jerusalem to Jewish hands.
It is also appropriate to remember on Yom Yerushalayim is that if it was not for the progressive hubris of the man who is considered the hero of the Six-Day-War, Moshe Dayan, Jerusalem and the Temple Mount would not be the issue it is today.
Jews were denied access to the Holy sites in the Old City Jerusalem since 1948, when Jordan took it over during the War of Independence. In the intervening 19 years the Jordanians waged systematic destruction, desecration and looting of Jewish sites.

SUPPOSE MOSHE DAYAN DECIDED TO CAPTURE SAUDI ARABIA BEFORE ABDUL-AZIZ BIN SUD DID. AND ABDUL HAD TO SETTLE FOR WHERE ISRAEL IS NOW, WE WOULD LIVE IN A DIFFERENT WOLD.

The difference between what happened at the turn of the 20th century was that the immigrants, despite thier national pride, WANTED to become Americans and DIDN'T expect handouts from anyone other than their family.
So not only is this time "different". It is proving to be catastrophic from an economic standpoint.

As for healthcare, you and I differ in our viewpoints.
Name one service that an average Cuban citizen receives that an average US citizen doesn't.
Again, I have to point at some of the hypocrisy of the pro-Obamacare crowd (not necessarily you, but the group in general):
We often hear the claim you made above: that US citizens are not afforded basic health care. As if they're actually turned away.
Now, without debating the truth of this, we can just wait a minute and then hear another "fact" from the same group: When an opposing voice exclaims that nobody is turned away and the crowded emergency rooms is proof positive, the pro-obamacare contingent proudly retort that obamacare would therefore save us money since we're paying for them anyhow.

Either way, it's a point that deserve discussion. Something that Obama refused when he rammed his plan down our throats.

Liberals are always so quick to call people racists. Since tailgater started the response I will give you a specific and personal example. On my mothers side of the family my grandparents were Italian-American immagrants. They used to tell stories of how hard their parents worked to become part of the fabric of ths country and to integrate themselves in the culture. They used to tell me the happiest day in their parents lives were when they became American citizens. My grandmother and grandfather grew up speaking Italian in the house but their parents would whup their asses if they dared to speak anything but English outside of the home. It was hysterical as a kid to see my grandmother and the Italian butcher carry on a conversation in broken English when they were both more comfortable speaking Italian but neither one would disrespect their adopted home country. They made an effort to integrate their family and cultural traditions into their new lives. 4th of July was a huge family get together but we always had macaroni and sausage and peppers along side our hamburgers and hot dogs. My mother has cousins whose last name is Irish even though they are 100% Italian. At the time her uncle grew up the Irish controlled the unions and Italians were not even considered for jobs. So he did what he needed to do and dropped a few vowels from his last name and legally changed it to something that sounded Irish and got work to support his family.

I could go on about things they did but I think its easier to point out things they didn't do. They made every attempt and put maximum effort into becoming US citizens. They didnt speak their born language outside of the home. They didnt expect signs and tests to be in their born language. They didn't fly their born countries flag outside their home or drive around with it on the hood of their car. They didn't not work and expect health care and welfare and food stamps from their new country. they didn't ignore opportunity and made the best of the education and emplyment opportunities they had.

So I don't think its racism that causes people to have issue with the current immigrants. I think its the "here I am - feed me, clothe me, keep me healthy, and oh while your at it learn my language" mentality that didnt used to exist. And its not all new immigrants that have that mentality. I work everyday with people who were born in England, Columbia, Trinidad, Jamaica, Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc. They all work hard, got their citizenship and even they are disgusted by the mentality described above.

Do you know how many people in that complex are minorities? Just about NONE.... The U.S. pays people to be uneducated... Plain and simple...
