I went to school with Mark Sandman, Morphine's front man. Nice kid.

I believe he died on stage in Germany of a heart attack during a New years Eve performance...something like that. Before they were Morphine, his band was called Treat Her Right.

Cool beans Frank! Very innovative trio. Who else could get so much out of a bass, drums and sax? Sounds about right on the heart attack for Sandman. A friend who is ordinarily a guitar driven blues fan turned me on to them in the late 90s or thereabouts. About the time I found them they were gone, or at least their driving force was. Slide bass.... Still makes me shake my head and smile.
