The Last Waltz - Eric Clapton with Robbie Robertson playing:

"Further On Up The Road"

Further on up the road
Someone's gonna hurt you like you hurt me.
Further on up the road
Someone's gonna hurt you like you hurt me.
Further on up the road,
Baby, just you wait and see.

You gotta reap just what you sow;
That old saying is true.
You gotta reap just what you sow;
That old saying is true.
Just like you mistreat someone,
Someone's gonna mistreat you.

You been laughing, pretty baby,
Someday you're gonna be crying.
You been laughing, pretty baby,
Someday you're gonna be crying.
Further on up the road
You'll find out I wasn't lying.

Further on up the road
Someone's gonna hurt you like you hurt me.
Further on up the road
Someone's gonna hurt you like you hurt me.
Further on up the road,
Baby, just you wait and see.

Followed by Emmylou's Evangeline.

I went to school with Mark Sandman, Morphine's front man. Nice kid.

I believe he died on stage in Germany of a heart attack during a New years Eve performance...something like that. Before they were Morphine, his band was called Treat Her Right.

Cool beans Frank! Very innovative trio. Who else could get so much out of a bass, drums and sax? Sounds about right on the heart attack for Sandman. A friend who is ordinarily a guitar driven blues fan turned me on to them in the late 90s or thereabouts. About the time I found them they were gone, or at least their driving force was. Slide bass.... Still makes me shake my head and smile.

Hey Cat. Good to see you.

Leon Bridges. He ain't Sam Cooke reincarnate, but he's awfully smooth and a damn good substitute.
