Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, George Jones and all of the great old time country artists. Today country music is dead. Nobody filled their shoes.

Every genre says the same thing...Music is dead. The problem is CWHOREporate Radio. It's forumaliac and they play the same garbage on every call sign in every town at the same time. You listed some greats, but there is great Country music still being played today. You just haven't found them yet. Some have been mentioned on this thread.

Billy Strings
Colter Wall
Dave Alvin
Kacey Musgraves
Kurt Vile
Pokey LeFarge
Ryan Bingham
Shooter Jennings

This is jut off the top of my mind right now and I'm sure I've missed a lot. All of them are still making great Country music that you'll never hear on your radio. You need to get out and immerse yourself into the local scene too. That will help broaden your find.

Glove - Boom Nights

"Modern Toy"

Got the chance to see them Saturday. They rocked the room down. Not every day you get to witness a band that has the chops to re-energize genres and whip them with their own special sauce.

"Glass" from the same album

"Family Trip" from the same album as well.

Brie Deux made her case for overturning the Deborah Harry power structure. If you've wanted to hear what Joy Division, Gang of Four, Kraftwerk and Blondie would've sounded like if they started now...GO SEE THEM!

Plus...they're really nice people! Nice to see a Tampa local band get theirs!

Band of Gypsies (Hendrix, Miles, Cox)
Always LOVED this band. The live recording of “Who Knows” is a fuqin classic.
His guitar work on that song is amazing…….just a simple bluesy melody…..but listen to it a few times…….amazing for 53 years ago….

Very short lived trio……think they only played 5 gigs, (4 at Fillmore East, one at MSG) recordings from which were used for all the album.
Contract issues forced Hendrix to crank out the album, and rumor has it there was a bit of a power struggle continuously with Buddy Miles…
Hendrix’s agent was an idiot in all this as well.
Bummer…….Hendrix died not to long after the famous “break up” during the early part of the show, at MSG.

It's ok I suppose. I keep expecting an inspired return to form. Not sure where this boundless optimism is coming from

I feel like Hardwired was a step in the right direction, but they can't seem to put out a track that grabs me like the entirety of Masters, Lightning, and Justice
