Mother Seeks Trayvon Martin Trademarks
Records: Late teenager's kin filed pair of applications last week

MARCH 26--The mother of Trayvon Martin has filed two applications to secure trademarks containing her late son’s name, records show.

Sybrina Fulton is seeking marks for the phrases “I Am Trayvon” and “Justice for Trayvon,” according to filings made last week with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In both instances, Fulton, 46, is seeking the trademarks for use on “Digital materials, namely, CDs and DVDs featuring Trayvon Martin,” and other products.

The March 21 USPTO applications, each of which cost $325, were filed by an Orlando, Florida law firm representing Fulton, whose first name is spelled "Sabrina" in the trademark records.

Martin, 17, was shot to death last month during a confrontation with George Zimmerman, a 28-year-old neighborhood watch captain. Martin, pictured above, was visiting his father’s home in Sanford, Florida when he was shot to death by Zimmerman, who has claimed that he was acting in self-defense.

It's a tragedy no matter how you look at it. I just hope that justice is dispensed regardless of the mobs of people. My big question is how many people were surreptitiously asked for money by Sharpton, Jackson, & Farrakhan? Nothing like hi-jacking a tragedy for personal gain and personal fame.

Look, i don't begrudge them earning a living- and a good one at that. But, after watching and listening to Sharpton today, I believe he was sincere. And, while he was stirring up emotion, he wasn't stirring up hate or decisiveness. I thought, all things considered, he spoke and handled himself and the situation well. Now, Jackson, on the other hand, sucked. No inspiration whatsoever. Seemed like he was a broken old man compared to Sharpton. I watched the whole thing today for a good couple hours.

I have not been following this story very closely, but the knee-jerk reactions all over the news,
seem to be a little over-the-top.
So, Zimmerman was patrolling his neighborhood, because of rampant crime in the area ?
I know in Atlanta, at least once a week, you see crime footage video of the perpatraitors wearing hoodies.
The only description they give, is "males wearing hoodies" ...
So, dude was acting suspicious, and the 911 call said, he appeared to be on drugs. Now, I'm no lawyer,
but that can be taken 100 ways to nowhere, but if someone thinks someone is acting strange, then there is cause for concern.
Hell, I called airport 911 tonight on a guy screaming at the concrete for well over 10 minutes, saying the same jibberish over and
over and over and over and non-stop over and over again. Nutso ...

Now the story is coming out, that the kid was kicking the neighborhood watch guys' ass ... And the white guy shot in defense,
as his head was getting busted against the concrete. I wonder where this will go, and what city will burn first ??

I guess the reward money from the black panthers is nothing to be concerned about. I wonder what Eric Holder is thinking . . . ?

Without tension between races Sharpton and Jackson have no game. Of course they want to stir the pot, seems some may not see through their rhetoric, sad.

Whenever I think of Al Sharpton, I'm reminded of the movie "Do the right Thing" by Spike Lee, and the scene that was shot beside the grafitti brick wall stating, "Twana Told the Truth" ... and of course, the Duke LaCross scandal.

Both knee-jerk race related reactions, where white people were demonized & the "truth" is an after-thought.

Actually, that's the 2nd thought of Sharpton, Jesse & company ...

A few years ago, I went to the funeral of James Brown, and I was too busy looking the other way, when Michael Jackson, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson & their legion of walked inches away from me while I was too busy looking the other way ... weird story. The coliseum that held the funeral was packed, and I got in too late. The shoveled me along with the other w/o seats through the basement corridors, the whole while yelling, no cameras ... well, as soon as we got out in the open, I noticed "everyone" had their camera out ... and I was thinking, why the hell are they allowed to have they're cameras out, and while I was looking the other way, MJ & company walked mear inches passed me. It wasn't until I heard the screaming from the other side of the coliseum, did I realize that their entourage was still in tow. Then I wondered why so many would show up to mourn, and then scream about celebrity sightings ... that thought sorta sunk in, when reports of Paul McCartney flying into to Augusta in the middle of the night, to spend a few hours in the funeral home & then leave, not to cause a celebrity "disturbance" at the funeral ...

I guess sometimes 1+1 = WTF ?

"Meanwhile, the Orlando Sentinel reported that Zimmerman told police he lost Martin in the neighborhood he regularly patrolled and was walking back to his vehicle when the youth approached him from behind. The two exchanged words, Zimmerman said, and Martin then punched him in the nose, jumped on top of him and began banging his head on a sidewalk. Zimmerman said he began crying for help; Martin's family thinks it was their son who was crying out. Witness accounts differ and 911 tapes in which the voices are heard are not clear.

The Sanford police statement said the newspaper story was "consistent" with evidence turned over to prosecutors."

No, not them why they'd NEVER play good cop/bad cop in front of the media on a national case with racial implication! Why those pillars of society wait for the facts to come in and THEN pounce!

You can believe what you want. Their track records speak differently than your belief structure.

Former NAACP leader accuses Sharpton and Jackson of ‘exploiting’ Trayvon Martin

Former NAACP leader C.L. Bryant is accusing Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton of “exploiting” the Trayvon Martin tragedy to “racially divide this country.”

“His family should be outraged at the fact that they’re using this child as the bait to inflame racial passions,” Rev. C.L. Bryant said in a Monday interview with The Daily Caller.

The conservative black pastor who was once the chapter president of the Garland, Texas NAACP called Jackson and Sharpton “race hustlers” and said they are “acting as though they are buzzards circling the carcass of this young boy.”

Jackson, for example, recently said Martin’s death shows how “blacks are under attack” and “targeting, arresting, convicting blacks and ultimately killing us is big business.” (SEE ALSO: Jesse Jackson says Trayvon Martin ‘murdered and martyred’)

George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, killed Martin, a 17-year-old black man who was unarmed at the time of his death, last month. Zimmerman has claimed to have shot Martin in self-defense and has not been charged with a crime.

But Bryant, who explores the topic of black-on-black crime in his new film “Runaway Slave,” said people like Jackson and Sharpton are being misleading to suggest there is an epidemic of “white men killing black young men.”

“The epidemic is truly black on black crime,” Bryant said. “The greatest danger to the lives of young black men are young black men.”

Bryant said he wishes civil rights leaders were protesting those problems.

“Why not be angry about the wholesale murder that goes on in the streets of Newark and Chicago?” he asked. “Why isn’t somebody angry about that six-year-old girl who was killed on her steps last weekend in a cross fire when two gang members in Chicago start shooting at each other? Why is there no outrage about that?”

Bryant said he worries that “people like Sharpton and those on the left” will make Martin’s death a campaign issue in the presidential race.

He speculated that they will “turn this evolving tragedy of this young man into fodder to say… if you don’t re-elect Obama then you will have unbridled events or circumstances like this happening in the streets to young men wearing hoodies.” (RELATED: Herman Cain criticizes ‘swirling rhetoric’ after Martin shooting)

He also criticized President Obama for his “nebulous statement” responding to Martin’s death that “if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”

“What does that mean?” Bryant asked. “What was the purpose in that?”

and the following video on this roundtable.

Listen to the race baiting STILL going on.

The feelings...the emotions...all ginned up for maximum impact.

They want blood in the streets. Jet was dead on. What town is going to put itself on the map with this disgrace. Why even Bush Derangement Syndrome seeped its way into the conversation. The NAACP President Ben Jealous (oh the irony!) even went so far as to call Sanford a KKK capitol. He's a discredit to the human race. Sanford? Look, I grew up in Orlando...you live there now. Sanford is what...a bedroom community to Orlando? So this is what they talk about on camera...How'd you like to be in the room when the little red light is off?

Even the President jumped the shark when he put his nose in this matter that should be held locally. You'd think he would've learned his lesson at the Beer Summit when he jumped to conclusions and uttered the "acted stupidly" comment.

The jackass went so far as to NOT bash on the New Black Panthers.
