Rice was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and is the only child of Angelena Rice and the Reverend John Wesley Rice (Jr.). Her father was an African-American minister at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and her mother was a music teacher.

Rice was eight when her schoolmate Denise McNair was killed in the bombing of the primarily African-American Sixteenth Street Baptist Church by white supremacists on September 15, 1963. Rice states that growing up during racial segregation taught her determination against adversity, and the need to be "twice as good" as non-minorities.[2] Segregation also hardened her stance on the right to bear arms; Rice has said in interviews that if gun registration had been mandatory, her father's weapons would have been confiscated, leaving them defenseless against Ku Klux Klan nightriders. [3]

Incidentaly, the man who bombed the 16th Baptist Church, died in prison the day she took office as United States Secretary of State . . .

CBid posted Rick's picture of people jumping out of the WTC on 9-11. It's no surprise they posted this.

This is the funniest picture I've seen in a long time. It's flat out wrong, but funny nonetheless. Nothing 'racist' about it, as somebody above seems to allude to. A little girls picture with a womans face superimposed is not racist....nor are the words 'bomb the russians.'

Rick,

I said CBid posted your picture, which they did. How does not repeating your excuse for posting it make me a liar? Tell your own stories.

Please be a little more selective in your accusations.

Yeah sure, nothing but a funny picture, wink wink… the tone of most responses tells the story, your momma must be so proud.

Very true Jet.

To further the irony, the victims of that church bombing knew exactly who was most likely responsible by their openly displayed hatred; you cannot say the same for the paternal liberal that couches their prejudice as humor.

Adroomi, I hope I'm not stepping into something I'll be sorry for. lol

How do we know "Ruskies" isn't a screen name?

Dadz,
I guess we sorta don't. I'm not following you though. Why would she want to bomb a person?

I agree it's not racist; it's only a bit funny though.

I do think if I posted a picture of Jesse Jackson or the idiot that runs la raza (sp?) like this it would be considered racist and not funny at all by many here, including Adroomi.

A picture of a girl in school girl clothing with a book that says "bomb the russians." is making a joke about her being a "war monger" even as a child. It has NOTHING to do with her race.

If it were hillary clinton in the photo with the caption "stand by my man" it would not be racist.

If it were jesse jackson holding a book that said "equality now" it would not be racist.

If it were jesse jackson in some sort of get-up like the character "buckwheat" from "our gang," I would find that racist.

Racist goes with the intent, and I don't feel the intent of this photo was to demean her race, it was to demean her views on war.

BS, you are a race baiter. You decide what is racist based on who says it (not what they say) and who the target is (right winger- not racist. Lefty- racist).

Whatever you say man.

This photo does not have a single tone of racism in it to me. That's my perception. It depicts Rice as a warmongerer. It makes a joke that she was such even as a child. There is NOTHING in this photo that attempts to classify her as subordinate to other races. Nothing about the clothing, the book, the writing in the book....nothing.

It's a funny picture, but because she's a black woman, and nobody is crying "racism" or "throwing the race card," you are trying to bring racism into it to defend your own views and "prove" that others are racist. Your attempt above to claim that others would be upset if it was Jesse Jackson is so textbook! It's goal is to show that those that "would" be offended are really the racist ones....not you.

If you want to post a photo of jesse jackson, go right ahead. up to you.

Now please discuss the photo, and your thoughts on it. It's not about me. In fact, why don't you just ignore me? Go ahead and have your last word and say something. I'll ignore that, and then you can ignore me, okay?

thanks.
