Good job Goodell. What twisted web we weave when we set out to deceive. I for one will be waiting on the outcome of Vima's defamation lawsuit. At this point I don't have an opinion one way or another as no evidence has been disclosed. But, I think it's novel that the NFL has not presented anything other than to say it happened. Now it looks as though there is a reluctance to deposition. Could it be that the "evidence" is weak and the powers that be don't want to disclose it as such? Who knows.

This is the first time in 25 years that I won't enjoy a game or two in the Superdome. My paw-in-law had 4 season tickets when I met my wife back in '86. They were $22 back then. As the prices climbed, he gave up two of them. Finally, at $298 each, they have become too expensive, so he gave them up this year. Can't say I blame him.

Lingerie League says some replacement refs who have been blowing calls during NFL games this season used to work in their league, but were fired for doing a poor job.

Reps from the Lingerie Football League (LFL) claimed that they fired a couple refs that are now working NFL games as replacement referees.
A handful of the scab refs who have marred the NFL season with a series of blown calls are washouts from the Lingerie Football League, the underwear league said. 

The bra-and-panty league said at least one crew of refs now working NFL games couldn't hack it on their all-girl gridiron and were fired. 

Deadspin first reported the league's comments early Tuesday.

"Due to several on-field occurrences of incompetent officiating, we chose to part ways with a crew which apparently is now officiating in the NFL," Lingerie League commissioner Mitch Mortaza said in a statement. "We have a lot of respect for our officials but we felt the officiating was not in line with our expectations.

"We have not made public comment to date because we felt it was not our place to do so. However in light of tonight's event, we felt it was only fair that NFL fans knew the truth as to who are officiating these games," Mortaza said, referring to Monday night's debacle in Seattle.

Anger over the replacement refs came to a head after a blown call during Monday night's game between the Seahawks and the Packers. A Green Bay player clearly intercepted a last-second touchdown heave, but the play was ruled a touchdown.
That game ended with a last-second heave into the endzone that was clearly intercepted by the Packers - despite a blatant Seahawks foul -- but ruled a Seattle touchdown by the bumbling replacement refs.

Mortaza wouldn't say whether any of his league's ex-refs were on the field on Monday night.

The crew his league canned was based in Chicago, and called their last panty pigskin game was in January, he told the Daily News. Five or six refs were released, he said. 

"It was for everything from not facing the camera when making the call to blatantly missed calls like the one last night," Mortaza explained about why the refs were sent packing. 

"At our level, being in our infancy, we appreciate our credibility and the integrity of the game is on the line," he said. "If we appreciate it, I’m not sure why the NFL can’t appreciate it."

The NFL had been "exposed" by last night's blown call, Mortaza said, and needed to put real officials back on the field. 

"I think the fans deserve that more than anyone," the die-hard Redskins fan fumed. 

In a statement about the game on Tuesday, the NFL said replay officials were right not to overturn the touchdown call, but admitted Seattle receiver Golden Tate should have been flagged for offensive pass interference. 

Lingerie league officials said the refs were fired for shoddy game calling. 'Because of the LFL's perception it is much more critical for us to hire officiating crews that are competent...to keep our athletes safer,' the league said.
The horrific call had fed-up NFL fans calling for the league to throw the bums.

One aggrieved Wisconsin State Senator even posted commissioner Roger Goodell's phone number on Twitter and urged fans to call him and

Reports about LFL refs slipping into the big leagues surfaced back in August after comments by the NFL's former officiating veep.

Football fans mocked the NFL brass for hiring the LFL rejects.

"You'd have to be a real boob to not be abreast of the LFL rules to the point they call you a bust," one Deadspin commenter wrote.

NEW YORK – The NFL has upheld the Seahawks' 14-12 win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.

The league said in a statement Tuesday that Seattle's last-second touchdown pass should not have been overturned.

The NFL says Seahawks receiver Golden Tate should have been called for offensive pass interference before the catch, which would have clinched a Packers victory, but that cannot be reviewed by instant replay.

The replacement officials ruled on the field that Tate had simultaneous possession with Green Bay safety M.D. Jennings, which counts as a reception. The NFL says that once that happened, the referee was correct that no indisputable visual evidence existed on review to overturn the touchdown call.

On the final play, Russell Wilson heaved a 24-yard pass into a scrum in the end zone. Tate and Jennings both got their hands on the ball, though the Packers insisted Jennings had clear possession for a game-ending interception.
