As to education: I don'think we pay enough for education. It should be among our nation's highest priorities. Sad that some kids don't already have enough books for each kid to have one for the year. Budgets for the arts have been slashed. Got no problem with athletes paying for their own uniforms, and extracurricular activities, but when teachers need kids to bring in markers for the white board or my kid gets a book that has fallen apart and is taped backed together or has ink underlining, that's not right. We have overcrowding at too several schools and classes are sometimes way to big.

Heard an interesting statistic last week: The U.S. spends more $$ on defense that the next 15 countries combined. If this is true, we should be able to contribute more money for our schools.
