Lottery is for more govt jobs and spending.

We spend too much on "education" not educating. PERS and admin costs are ridiculous.

I agree they should be well paid if they deserve it.

Unions have entirely too much control.

I've always been of the opinion that absolute power corrupts absolutely especially with time. IMHO trades such as bricklaying, sculpting, painting, even IT work improve with time and experience. Elected officials usually only get arrogant & more power hungry as time passes. It is human nature for these folks to become intoxicated with their ability to grant/seek favors and mark their place in history. Thus, we have to help them along to a law practice retirement & replace them periodically. Unfortunately, their voting constituents usually stand by their benefactors through good or bad like a good woman and vote them back in. Terms are needed, otherwise peoples' cynicism towards the broken system will be justified and self-fulfilling. Basta. Enough with the foolishness. Change these officials as you do shoes and underwear. Otherwise, they stink.

On an associated note, I've always contended that all what we really need to do is simplify our laws a la the Code of Hammurabi & hire minimum wage law clerks to interpret & apply.

I voted Perot on an absentee ballot (early) in '92. Shortly after I mailed my ballot, he started in with the public paranoia about the RNC conspiracy to get to him through his daughter's wedding (or some such silliness.) I thought for years that I'd have voted differently had I waited for election day. Now, I'm glad I helped push the 'legitimacy' of a third party to 19% - And, I am convinced he'd have been a better president than Clinton was and better than GHWB II would have been. Loved Stockdale on the debate stage.

I'm giving the Republicans one last chance. If Romney gets elected, which I doubt, and governs like an Obama, you can count me in your third party/spoiler hijinks from hereon out. I will have permanently lost interest in either major party.
