Do you really believe that absent the TARP bailout, the GM bailout, etc the market would be so high. And tell me how those dollars have benefited the average guy any more that "Bush's" two wars did.

Let's put this into perspective. Whether one agrees with the wars or not, all that defense spending created jobs. Sure a large amount of money found its way in to wealthy hands, but so has TARP and GM dollars. What's the difference?



Oh and now for the disclaimer: I think all politicians should be term limited. Way to many people go to Washington to live VERY comfortably on the public dole. In addition, political parties are as bad as stage five cancer and should be done away with.

What started out as temporary fixes have become longtime solutions. In my line of work, on the public dole if you will, I come across people everyday who take advantage of the system. To them, it has become a source of expected income.

Seventy-three weeks of un-employment benefits??? Or, if you live in New York eighty-three weeks??? Nothing like telling someone they can collect free $$$ for a year and a half. I don't know what the un-employment rate is where I live, but I suspect it's hovering between 5-9%, yet in Sunday's paper there were at least 12 pages of help wanted ads.

The REAL problem is the us against them mentality that we as a nation have come to be. We can thank the Republican and Democratic parties for that. With their cookie cutter platform planks, we are thrown on one side or another. I'm in no way supportive of abortion, but I don't feel it's my place to tell another person what to do with their body. That puts me at odds with both parties. I'm not in favor of government giveaways. Again, on one hand we have un-employment benefits and on the other farm subsidies. That leaves me on the outside looking in.

Then we have the hypocrisy. On one hand, we have trade unions cursing the very businesses who sign contracts so the members of those unions can earn a pay check. We have über rich calling for higher taxes, yet they shield most if not all of their wealth from the very taxes they champion. I wonder how big a tax bite John and Melinda Kerry's estate will pay? Not much im sure. Walk into any tax planning accounting firm and ask them to show you the room where they kep the tax avoidance manuals for he working class. It doesn't exist. But, the library where plans or the rich would rival some school libraries.

When was the last time a politician came to your house for dinner. Do they come as often as they go to parties hosted by the very people trying to get legislation passed hat will benefit their clients? Prolly not.
