Only Springstein song I ever liked was I'm On Fire... still a fan, but probably more for sentimental reasons than entertainment value...

Kodachrome & We built this city are both bubblegummish and yet enjoyable IMO. But what do I know? I just got ears. I ain't no musical expert.🍺

MacArthur Park -

That was the dumbest song ever....sorry guys but think about the lyrics:

MacArthur Park is melting in the rain, all the sweet green icing flowing down.
someone left the cake out in the rain, I don't think that I can take it
Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again....Oh no.

Yikes!

And judging from the lyrics, I'm glad lol.

You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, diggin' the dancing queen

Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come in to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music's high
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...

You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, diggin' the dancing queen

You're a teaser, you turn 'em on
Leave them burning and then you're gone
Looking out for another, anyone will do
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...

You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, diggin' the dancing queen

Really????

I have to second that one... grew up loving the oldies, but when this one would come on the radio, I would cringe... terrible, song, terrible lyrics, and terrible vocals... just plain terrible...

And wasn't there a song about cannibalism? Name and artist escape me (...thank goodness!...) but basically they ended up eating someone during the course of the song...yuck!

Edit: the song is "Timothy" by The Buoys.

Teedubbya and Drafter's favorite song. I think MACS and 8track secretly like it, too.

Really? This surprises me. I can see not liking the way he sings but he could pen some great lyrics. Especially early on. "The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle" is one of my favorite albums.
