I've been on this diet that includes gluten free food. Trying to lose @ 20 lbs and get down to 225.

Most gluten free food blows.

Gluten free beer (Fox Tail) is fair.

Need some suggestions so I don't wind up on the penitentiary.

Thanks.

I have an extreme allergy to gluten, and I drink whisky all the time. Things processed on equipment that has processed wheat bother me. Even things processed in the same plant as gluten products. I have no ill effect from any whisky, so go ahead and drink up.

Mike,

Do to my multiple allergies, I do a lot of brown rice, quinoa, green vegis and meat. Trader Joes has a good assortment of very tasty gluten free chicken sausages. For snacks, Old Wisconsin makes a gluten free turkey stick that tastes like beef, and Edward & Sons has 3 flavors of a tasty brown rice cracker. Hodgson Mill makes a very good gluten free pancake mix, that I've modified to make snack cakes (just increase the eggs) and cookies (greatly increase the shortening, I use coconut oil, due to my problem with dairy). Amazon has the best prices on all three.

24 years old and 240 pounds, with 15 years smoking experience.

You got bigger problems than gluten.

Cut out the pancakes/waffles.

Dude, that's it!

You don't have a weight problem, you have a height problem. You stretch out about 9" and you're good to go.

Apparently, gluten blocks the body's ability to burn stored fat. Hence, this particular diet.

Does water have gluten in it ?

Thanks Dave. Unfortunately the diet I'm on also restricts me from eating sugar (artificial also), eggs, dairy products, corn in it, peanuts, soy, and gluten.

Question= Why would meat, fish, and poultry products have gluten in it ? And, what's a good gluten free beer? Is Optimim (sic) good?

I will resume hitting the whiskey though. Just gotta watch the sugar.

Mykey . . .

I lost 40lbs in just over 3 months by cutting out the "whites".

No White bread.

No white rice.

No pasta.

No sugar.

If I drank more than the 8-16 ounces of water a day I drink, I would have probably lost 50 lbs.

Call me tomorrow and we'll talk.
