It'd be a tough call but I really like the AR platform and although it is less forgiving than an AK with ammo quality, I figure if the best military in the world has been using it as their battle rifle for a half century it must have something going for it.

Maybe throw an FEG AK underfolder in the pack as a backup just in case...:-k

The problem isn't going to be finding weapons or maintaining their reliability...people are still firing Revolutionary War muskets with 100% reliability. The problem is going to be finding ammo, and then after a handful of years, whether or not you can manufacture blackpowder at a high enough purity and flash point to use in smokeless rifle cartridges.
