-there is no sound contingency plan to disassemble and remove the turbines at end of life.
But mostly it's this:
Capewind used blatant lies 15 years ago to get this rolling.
1. said we wouldn't see the turbines from shore.
2. said our electric bill would be lower.
3. claimed they wouldn't need subsidies to keep rates low.
4. promised a fixed rate in perpetuity. Claiming that since "wind is free" it would never raise prices.
All of the above have since been rescinded, revamped, or re-worded.
