When you look back at your life, what injury, medical condition or accident caused you the most amount of physical pain?

What do you remember about it most distinctly?

Motorcycle accident. Skull fracture, road rash, partially severed ear. Had a small subdural hematoma and took years to recover, still not the same.

Thing I remember most distinctly would be the neurological issues that persist to some degree 10years later. At the time though, I had issues with speech, memory and impulse control. Though they still persist, they've subsided.

Yup, but much better than the first year or so after the wreck. Luckily I had a friend that took away my credit cards and shredded them a few months after the injury. I was quite angry at the time, and the cc companies wouldn't reissue... Frontal and temporal lobe injuries. 10 years later and I'm still paying... should be paid up in another 5 years....

A couple of things...

When I got hit by a car riding my bicycle back in Texas.

The other was when I had urethral surgery and had to pass a blood clot a few days later. Very hot shower saved my life.

TMI! TMI!

Edit: Never passed a kidney stone, but it was probably like that.. from what I've heard.

Open heart surgery, valve replacement. It hurt like 10 million MF's to sneeze.

Other than that, when I caught my scrotum in my zipper.

CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) leak at site of lumbar disc surgery and the headache that resulted from that leak. If was as if my skull was being crushed in a vice. Not your ordinary headache and far worse than the 30 years of back pain that preceded the surgery. On the bright side, back on the surgery table, patch the hole, headache gone.

Crushing my hand in a log splitter or passing kidney stones. Choose one. Both where painful as hell.

Dirt bike crash in 87

Same injury as Jamie but also broke my wrist and all my fingers. That sucked to ride back the 12 miles to the truck.

On palm Sunday.

Getting hit in the balzz a few times & trying not pass out.

Got hit with a baseball & wound up with a broken nose. Man did that hurt (but not as much as getting hit in the balzz)

Done both here. Three fingers smashed down to 0.180" (surprisingly no surgery, just splinting) in a stamping press. And have passed a few small kidney stones. Largest was 2.5mm. Couldn't imagine the 4-5mm stones I've seen passed. Usually 5 or greater require intervention.

Last spring I passed a 7.2 mm stone.

As far as the fingers go:

The last joint on my right ring finger is fused and screwed. About a 1/4" was amputated from the pinky.
