I picked up one of these little beauties at my local store last night ... it jumped out at me as I walked in the door and looked SO good in the box ... all dark and oily with one of those old fashioned Cuban designed wrappers that are just simply a work of art. I got the 5x54 robusto and found it to be smooth and even burning, a full-bodied smoke with a wonderful aroma.

I'm sure looking forward to these being available here ... any word on that, Keith???

After our discussion and your email Steve, I am hoping to find that cigar locally. I did find out that it is made by Torano who makes only great smokes!! If I can't find it locally you up for some trading Steve? I can include some smokes in the package I owe you for putting up with me in the pool 🙂

Are we sure that they are made by the Torano boys? I thought that ashton and one of carlito's farms were making them. One of my buds says they are mild priced VSGs, with the full flav.

I went to an Ashton tasting last week at my favorite New Orleans shop. The Ashton rep. said they were just distributing these, not manufacturing them. I bought one to try this weekend. Glad to hear the good review.

Distributed by Ashton (aka Holts) but made by Carlos Torano (this info comes from a local tobacconist). Torano makes roughly 75% of my favorite smokes but are sold/distributed under numerous names. La Perla, CAO Brazilia, Sherpa, and many others. And then there are his own Signature and Exodus lines. I haven't had a bad Torano made cigar yet. Hopefully this one is no different.

Looks like they start around $80-$90 a box for a small corona.

I must be in a different tax bracket, not my idea of a "mild priced" cigar. Look nice however. Maybe next year we'll see them on closeout for $25.

I didn't say or imply that they were a bargain-priced cigar ... the only ones I've seen so far have been at my local store where the retail on them is what I would describe as being in the mid-range ... I gave a few cents more than $6 each for the two 5x54 robustos I got which is pretty much an average (retail) price here in CA for a decent robusto ...

Night before last, I yeilded to temptation and smoke the other one ... it was as good as the first and I was again impressed with the slow, even burn I got from it ... I will certainly be looking for more of these.

I just got done smoking one of these , i don't know which size but i really like it . slightly spicy / peppery but rich tobacco taste . will buy more once the price goes down or they start auctioning these on this site

Smoked my first of two I picked up a few weeks back. It was about a 6x48 or thereabouts. Slow burn is right; that baby just kept going and going. Easy draw and volumes of smoke and just enough complexity to keep it interesting...all the way to the nub. Full bodied and thoroughly enjoyable. Seemed to me it kept building to the end. Brownish/gray Ash fell after about 2.5 inches and I wasn't being careful with it either. Easy draw. I'll be checking around for best pricing; picked up mine for a few pennies over $6. Will get some to put down for about 6 months and see what happens.
