And now the rest of the story; the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned her ruling and the ID law will be in affect for the elections. This is as ridiculous as people continuing to post the 10 Commandments in a religious setting when it has already been decided by the Supreme Court that any posting has to be in a historical setting and not a religious setting.

Why should it even be argued at all? People are too poor to afford the $3 for a voting ID? Too poor to have transportation to get the ID? How do these people function in society then? How do they propose to eat or obtain any clothing?
Dems want it to get the easy vote an Republicans want to block the easy vote. This should not be an issue at all.

Fed. Appeals Court Reverses Obama’s La Raza Judge – Restores Texas Voter ID Law for Election
The 5th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals dealt a blow to a radical, Obama-appointed judge and Attorney General Eric Holder in reinstating Texas’ photo voter ID law.

It actually is a non-issue.

Hell, the original article recognized it's a non-issue

Critics – including Judge Ramos – say that the specific kind of fraud voter ID laws protect against is so rare as to be negligible. The statistics bear this out, but who’s to say that every instance of voter fraud is being caught by the system? -

Essentially, on one hand, the fraud it's preventing is negligible.
On the other hand, the number of people actually prevented from voting by it is also likely negligible.

Both sides are making hay over what is probably a very small number.

My inclination is to go for fewer regulations over more. If there has been no indication that it's actually a point of exploitation in the system, and there are people potentially hurt by it... then why have it?

Interestingly, to put things in some perspective, some times the issue is around time. People who work full time in sh%t jobs sometimes can't get away. Any time they're off to get documetation is time they aren't earning money. I was recently reminded of this when I had to make a couple trips to the local DMV for my license/registration etc... It's disgusting how many hundreds of dollars that cost me in lost potential earnings. Now, I have the flexibility to make it up by working late. People at the bottom rung don't have that flexibility. Now, I don't particularly care about them, but I think it's important to understand at least the perspective they are coming from.

You're a freakin idiot for not understanding the cynicism of the statement.

How can I loose credibility when the story is true ya freakin putz. You are not always correct or right. Go back to your left-hand corner.

There's absolutely no excuse for not requiring an ID to vote. You need an ID to drive a car. You need an ID to catch a fish. You need an ID to buy booze. These "disenfranchised" people have no problem presenting a form of ID to get their guberment welfare benefits.

Not requiring an ID just because it may be "difficult" for a few is no excuse to do nothing. Could you cross the Mexican border illegally and vote in their elections? NO. So why should it be acceptable here?

NY City ID cards for undocumented immigrants will include free memberships to cultural institutions:

No complaints here because they're all getting stuff for free. 🤦

This should get Victor's TuTu in a bunch as it compares voter ID to acquiring a hand-gun license:
Currently 32 states have implemented some variation of voter ID laws to curb election fraud. Nevertheless, these reasonable requirements -- well within states’ Tenth Amendment rights to implement -- have been the targets of repeated Justice Department threats and legal challenges. The Department argues that simply requiring a valid ID in order to vote -- the same that is required for purchasing alcohol, or attending Obama fundraisers -- places an unfair, racially-biased burden that threatens the constitutional rights of minorities.

"Apparently our Second Amendment rights are just not “precious” enough to worry about when governments engage in actions expressly designed to “disenfranchise” individuals from exercising those rights.

"Imagine if voter ID laws were as rigorous as gun regulations found in many of America’s major cities."

The big "O"s fan are upset because their attempt at free amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants who are breaking the law will not "buy" them the votes they want for the effort. They already gave away free iPhones & internet under the guise it's a basic human need, so they need something new to give away this election. Kind of reminds me of when the bars where closed on election day to prevent the politicians from "buying" drinks and "buying" votes.
