Pretty much the "football move" was the dive to the end zone and reaching out for the goal line. If they wanted to call something, call the elbow down and spot it on the one.

The rule has to be changed, for sure, but I actually think they got the rule wrong here. He used his "third" foot to launch himself toward the end zone while extending his arm. That is a football move.

The interpretation of the rules can, and is often, subjective at some point. I thought it was a catch too and was cussing McCarthy for challenging it. However, some of the talking heads seem to think that it was clearly NOT a catch so who knows.
