The satanist group had a really great solution to this.

Businesses simply need to advertise which groups they refuse to serve. I mean, a gay guy/girl looks pretty much like a straight guy/girl (a few exceptions of course)... so if a business feels a religious obligation not to provide service to that group, they really need to advertise it out front, so that the gay guy/girl knows they aren't wanted. I mean, if Johnny Gay buys flowers for his boyfriend every week for a year with no problem... but then asks the same florist to provide flowers for the wedding and is denied, clearly there's been a failing. The florist has been "completely unwittingly" selling flowers to be used for gay purposes (don't ask what those are) for a whole year... and Johnny Gay has been unwittingly supporting a business that doesn't believe he should be allowed to exist.

So, I'd be okay with this as long as every business places a completely visible sign in the window, or on the door that says something to the extent of : "No gays allowed".

That way Johnny Gay knows not to accidentally force them into providing a service to a gay man, and I know not to buy goods from religious people.

If you call what is happening "evolving " I'll be glad to be dead and gone before the process is complete....This is nothing @ all like segregation but you already knew that and to compare the two....is just laughable. People have NO choice what color skin they're born into nor the wealth of the family they're born into.....THIS to some degree is ALL about FREE CHOICE. But that's the beauty of the 50 United States....your FREE to live wherever you feel most comfortable, while NOT forcing others to knuckle under to outside pressure or loss of revenue or worst yet being ran out of business for not holding with someone else's worldview.

Perhaps insurance companies will refuse medical treatment on Sundays because it is the Sabbath. Far fetched, yes, possible under this law, yes.

If you are Jewish, that is correct. If you are Christian it is considered Sunday. Also I was speaking about the Sabbath. What is a Sabath?

you're right they were born like that and if you ask any gay person if they chose to be gay they will say no, but that they were born like that. It's the same as we didn't choose to be straight when we were born, we just are. It's the same for them.

You talk about loss of revenue, wouldn't providing a service to everyone generate more revenue?

See most people today think like YOU do.....it's ALL about the $$$. It's NOT that way for everyone, some folks feel strongly enough about these issues they'll risk lost revenue.....they Should NOT however have to risk being put out of business because they can't afford to defend themselves in court OR they get a judge that's soft on the entire lifestyle. Let the FREE market work.....

How will a state law do that nationally Speyside?

The NCAA and Angies List took a stand against this and they're big corporations, should that not be allowed then?

Aw shucks. I think this is an important topic. Overall I support the rights of individuals. Certainly this is a state law. I see a loophole that needs to be closed. I really can envision corporate greed utilizing this to increase profits.

It's NOT that way for everyone, some folks feel strongly enough about these issues they'll risk lost revenue.....they Should NOT however have to risk being put out of business because they can't afford to defend themselves in court OR they get a judge that's soft on the entire lifestyle. So if a baker does not want to sell cakes to black people is that okay or is it just to drafter that is the issue. By the way this does not line up with the national law from what I read, it seems like apples and oranges but it's a nice soundbite.

I'm still looking for the necessity of the law though. The generic seeing writing on the wall business is going out of business elsewhere doesn't quite cut it with me. I'm not even saying the law's not necessary, I would just like to see solid examples of what this law is meant to fix. So far I've not seen any. It seems like an unnecessary law.

Whether it's a conservative law or a liberal law generally when the laws being put in place for no good reason other than a certain group wants it it's a bad thing. Generally in those cases it's the government actually growing or becoming more oppressive either in the name of conservatives or liberals who both really want big government they just want their bigger government. In this case it seems like the law was implemented in the back room and there are certain groups that wanted it who's agendas lineup with the anti-gay agenda. Maybe that's just a coincidence because I'm sure that wouldn't happen in politics.

The sad part is a new law was likely not necessary either to protect gays or to protect religious groups from the boogie man gay people. Now the opposite may very well happen Indiana may be forced to implement a gay protection law of some sort. Talk about unintended consequences.

Okay contradicted myself above but rather than hide it by editing I'll just admit I do think the law is likely unnecessary, unless somebody can give me specific examples of this is intended to fix.
