Variety is indeed a good thing. I'm good with Ketel, but don't keep it at home. Belvedere's my go-to premium. I usually keep handles of it Tito's and Sobieski at home and tend to order Tito's when at a restaurant or bar because ehat they charge for Belvedere cannbe ridiculous.

Thanks yo business and recreational traveling, I've had close to 80 different vodkas, but due to Alabama's restrictive alcohol laws, there's not a lot of craft vodkas available here.

I will state unequivocally that Grey Goose is awful.

I think I agree with you about gray goose. Never tried the belvedere though.... My have to give it a shake.

Truth is I'm really a scotch drinker. But I do like the occasional vodka martini. Dry, with a squeeze of line.

I do like a good martini, also quite dry. For some reason, more of a fall/spring thing for me. Odd how you can associate certain flavors with certain times of year. Christmas also stands out to me as martini time.

I had a bad Irish whiskey experience on March 17, 2011 that put me off whiskey of any sort for three years. Just now starting to enjoy it again. I've never explored scotch too deeply due to the cost, but I've had a few that were among the best things I'd ever tasted.

I know what you mean. For me tequila is the taste of summer. And the first snow (it we get one) demands a snort of bourbon - Woodford Reserve is my recommendation. French brandy reminds me of Christmas.....

Anyway, it must have been a real rip snorting bad time if you remember the date so well.

The best bargen in scotch - and I say this with a life time of research - is McClelland's Lowland.
It's a polite single malt at the price of a blended. My home is never left without it.....

Noted on McClelland's (hope they sell it in Alabama).

The only reason I remember the date was it was St. Patrick's day. I sure as h3ll don't remember what happened, but the aftermath was brutal. I couldn't even smell whiskey for two years without causing a gag reflex.

It was so bad my friends still apologize for it.

People in their 40s should never have to have the driver pull over in a Walgreens parking lot to vomit, the next afternoon.

tyyler (mia) sent me some Dripping Springs years ago...pretty easy to drink.
Belvedere is still the best IMHO, unless I'm wanting potato vodka.

But I think there are tons of small distillers everywhere that figured out how to get rid of unsold potatoes...in Maine there was Cold River (sumfin like that) but I haven't seen it around lately.

It's made of a few things...rye, wheat, even grapes (Grey Goose and the French Kirkland brand)
