It gets'm prepared for prison. 😰 IMO, it's great to have an officer in school, some students are quite capable of violent acts a teacher is not trained to handle. OTOH, metal detectors, searches and drug dogs are a lot like prison, even if it is, "For the children."
I'll never forget working at a nuclear plant construction site when the site protective forces did a drug dog sweep in our offices. It was quite intimidating, especially since we had taken over the office and everything inside from another contractor. I sure my face had the same stunned look as my entire group when the dog reacted to the desk of one fellow. Turned out to be an old jar of rubber cement that had xylene, similar to model cement people huff that crap. Tok about ten years off that guy. 😂
