he wanted to get rid of the Dep. of Education for cripes sake. I don't hear any of these guys talking that way.

Conservatives just don't think that centralized government controlling schools is a good way to go. Localized control of schools is preferable and more competition.

I don't know why libs refuse to entertain the idea of a voucher system so you can choose to go to another school if the one in your area sucks.
The people that get most hurt by not having this kind of choice are the poor.

Why do you want to keep poor people uneducated? That is the question libs should be asking themselves.

Laughable.

If you were a republican, you were a republican in the vein of a Lincoln Chafee, who was a Republican, then Democrat, soon to be libertarian or green party or some such nonsense.

That is a person with no set principles.

When a person goes from a true Rep. to Dem. he goes from thinking things through to how he "feels" about things. Consequences don't matter, failed programs don't matter, they just haven't been done correctly, or given enough money.

Embrace the man tony (big government). Big government statism is what you attribute to "growing up intellectually."
