Finally finished “Monk”.

My wife and I had enjoyed the show when it was “new” but never big enough fans to watch consistently so when we saw it on Netflix, decided to commit to watching the w-h-o-l-e show from start to finish. Saw a little bit of me in Adrian Monk so we’d laugh and say, “Hey, I / you do that too!” I’mma gonna hafta let some of those things go (…sooner or later…). Don’t rightly remember how long it took us but I’d guesstimate six to 8 weeks. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Looking for another show to watch but our first choice, “Colombo” isn’t available on any of the streaming services we have.

Finished Travellers on Netflix. I really wish it hadn't been cancelled after three seasons. I liked the premise and the story line never got too cheesy or off-target.

I had recently finished Monk all the way through too. It was always an enjoyable show and when USA would run their marathons I'd watch it but wasn't regularly plugged into it. Felt I knew enough of it to view it the way I did. Once streaming came along with commercial free...bingo bango...It popped up in my feed and we were off to the races. The little idiosyncrasies the character has had me dying laughing recalling the Marx Brothers and Laurel & Hardy. Paid attention to the credits and Tony Shalhoub was not only able to pull off the acting part but also as an executive producer. The show was really enduring due to the revolving door of up and coming comedians. That show had to be a scream to watch go down...writing, acting and filming. John Turturro played his brother masterfully and displayed his own unique "kinks" too.

You can find Columbo streaming on Tubi. It's a free streamer...but commercials.

If you like mysteries/detective shows...I highly recommend "Midsummer Murders". It first aired in 1997 and has continued since. Each episode has a movie like feel to it and the backdrop is the beautiful English middle country. I have friends that reside in towns that were featured in the show so it made it interesting. If you like BBC shows you will recognize a lot of actors young and old that make cameo roles. The first iteration cast has you so invested that when the Detective Chief Inspector retires if almost feels like you're saying goodbye to a family member. They do a good job of showing him on the job and with family. I find the show on BritBox as an Amazon addon. We love shows from the BBC so it was a natural pick that I gladly pay for. Another show worth streaming is "The Killing". We caught the tail end on AMC but they abruptly cancelled it. We could only see reruns when they aired them and they weren't running them in any particular order so we kinda gave up on it. Then Netflix picked it up to finish it...THANK YOU!!!! We were able to start from the beginning and watch it all the way through. Stellar acting in that one.

It was like putting on an old pair of boots with new laces. They fit but the laces stand out. I did like it though.

Each had their strengths and weaknesses but think I’mma more in the Sharona camp too. Nothing “wrong” with Natalie, she was more stable but Bitty Schram gave her character spunk and an edge. Plus, of course, her sometimes skanky wardrobe greatly contrasted with Monk’s near monotone.

Initially when Sharona “left” the show, I really missed her. I don’t know how much money Bitty wanted but wonder if, ultimately, she regretted her decision. Of course she wouldn’t know that the show would last six more seasons but she sure missed out on a bunch of residuals. There were times when Natalie was too goody-goody but as the series progressed, got used to it.

Another thing that my wife and I enjoyed was closure to the series. I’ll refrain from posting any spoilers but it was nice to not have any loose ends.

I agree on all points. The show is honestly very underrated. One of my favorite series of all time. I've probably seen every episode several times over. Tony Shalhoub is a great actor.
