Look at the Beretta 92FS series. Before the army chose to go with this model, they cycled something like 200,000 rounds through it without a single jam.
Has an open slide for this reason.
Great gun- have that in a 9mm and a 40 cal as well.
Hollow points in either will do the trick if it is ever needed- lets pray it never is.
9mm is cheaper on the wallet for the range.

Need to get to a range and rent a few. I like the feel of the hammer model but my buddy seems stuck on striker. I'd buy a p30 right now without fireing one just based on hand feel.
