Well, I got hit by the monkey the other day and I have been dying to try that Davidoff Nicaragua. But first since i have just gotten over a 3 week chest and sinus infection, i thought i would break myself in with a ten year old Camacho corojo i had. I have had these before but the flavor was rather muted and i thought its either aging too long or my pallet has not recovered......that was Friday. But i decide to do the Davidoff today anyway. No special time carved out, no special whiskey....i certainly did not set the stage properly. Cigar had visible veins but well constructed. I could pick up no aroma at prelight inspection and thought oh crap, i hope i dont waste a good cigar on my compromised condition. I lit it up and i said wow. An assault of flavors. Sweet, spicy.....like a fine Mexican dish. And it kept on with a cornicopia of flavors till i nubbed it. I had to relight several times as this became a half day cigar. I enjoyed the relights as much as the first. I must be cured or this is a great cigar......or both. I had a hard time putting this down (as i had some things to do around the house). I had to keep coming back to my lawn chair and just enjoy. Thanks monkeyboy!
