Yeah baby… post another win for Pens at MSG. Rangers can't handle the Pens on their home ice.

Lundqvist is hit more by his own teammates than he is by the Pens. Surprised the Refs didn't give him 5min again to gather himself.

Murray was more solid than Lundqvist… obviously.

Go Pens!

Did you actually watch the game Carl? If you did you would know the Pens outshot the Rangers almost 2-1 (31-17). Lunqvist made 29 saves (1 open netter) and Murray made 16 saves.

How about I will add another 5 smokes to the bet if you stop posting incorrect information?

Ron don't let these guys get under your skin. No doubt that the Penguins have had a lot of momentum and success coming into the playoffs but I still think that the Rangers will not go down without a fight. Let their fans think they have won it already. It is a 7 game series.

The score says it all about who was best in the net.

To paraphrase Bert Gordon from the movie "The Hustler"
This game isn't like football. Nobody pays you for yardage. When you [play hockey], you keep score real simple. At the end of the game, you count up [the goals]. That's how you find out who's best. It's the only way.

I'd be happy to take 5 cigars off your hands for providing that fact, and quote.

If the Ranglers loose Thursday's game, put a fork in them… they're done.

Last night's game was a good team win for the Pens. You are correct that at the end of the day all that really matters is wins and loses. It also takes 4 wins to win the series. Sounds like you are counting your chickens before they are hatched.

GO RANGERS

both of those teams played really hard last night
was a great game
the rangers sure can lay some hits

still cant help but feel like goal tending and a couple lucky bounces may be the difference
i hate playing against lundqvist

Pens did a nice job trapping the Rangers at center ice and not allowing them to get into the zone. They will need to make a big adjustment before tomorrow night.

Note I said "IF".
There's a lot of hockey left, and the Rangers are a tough team. But still think the odds favor the Pens if they win Thursday. A win would take a lot out of the Rangers sail. Remember that the Pens are playing with their 2nd & 3rd string goalies.

Also watched a recording later in the evening so I hope it's OK to post now.
We always watch a recording so we can skip through commercials and most of the intermission commentary.

Will be honest though... I was a disappointed in the game. Although it's always great to see the Pens get a shut-out especially during playoffs, I was pumped-up all day for a tougher game against the Rangers. Difficult to tell if the Pens played that great, or if the Rangers just played that bad. One thing was for sure, Lundqvist was definitely off his game. Murray however was solid in net again. Kunitz should have served a penalty, but don't know if a power-play would have really helped the Rangers at that point. The penalty called against the Rangers in the last 27 seconds was ridiculous! The Refs sucked.

My son's high-school hockey team could have beat the Rangers tonight.

Roenick's commentary against the Rangers during the 1st & 2nd intermission was unusually brutal. Couldn't help noticing he wasn't there for the after-game commentary and had already moved on to the Blues/Hawks game.

Sorry Ron. Here's hoping for a great game on Saturday!

The pens withstood an early and brief rush from the Rangers and took away all their steam after the first one went in the back of the net. From that point it was pretty boring to watch. I expected more and was excited all day for something great.

We will see what Saturday brings.

Huge disappointment. I think the fact that the Rangers have played the most playoff games of any team in the past 3 years has finally caught up. It is sad to admit but I think the window has closed on this team and its time to make some serious moves next year. It was a good run.

You mean the Rangers are still tired from playing in the playoffs last year??? And the year before???
Lame. 😳

The simply didn't play well, and had their azz handed to them. Whatever happened in previous years had nothing to do with their poor performance in last night's game.

WHAT???
If that where true then the Rangers would have won the Cup in the last 3yrs. The fact is they haven't won the cup since '94. Are they still tired from that championship? The Hawks have played the most playoff games in the last 3yrs, winning the Cup in 2015 & 2013. But they are out already!
