Looking forward to another good, spirited series against the Capitals.
5er says the Pens win the series.
Any Capitals fan wanna take that bet?

Great game! A shame the Pens lost it in OT!
Penalties called by the Refs where totally inconsistent.

Going to be a tough series for the Pens.
Looking forward to a win at home on Saturday.

i thought, aside for some shining moments, that both teams looked pretty sloppy

errant passes left and right and a lot of mess in the neutral zone

maata needs to snap out of it

I couldn't stay up for overtime. Had to get up at 5am for a tournament at my club today. I think every game will be close and the series could go either way.

WOW! Another great game! On the edge of my seat until the last second.

A great win for the Pens, and momentum coming to home ice.

Great goaltending as well

Murray really woke up towards the end and if it wasn't for holtby the pens would have put up 5 goals

Another great game. The Pens were the better team last night. I think it was a bad call that disallowed the tying goal in the 2nd period but the Pens deserved the win.

May as well fast forward to game 7 on this one!

Orpik used to be a Pen.
He is a dirty player, always was, and it's gotten worse since we traded him.
This isn't his first time. It won't be his last.

It was a cheap head-shot. There is absolutely no way to justify it. Orpik got what he deserved. Maata didn't deserve the hit. And Maata being knocked out of the series doesn't help the Pens at all! #-o

Also glad to read that Wilson was fined by the league for the sweeping knee shot to Sheary. Wilson should have been suspended too!. Some pretty dirty play by the Caps. But it's expected from the Caps.

he is a hard hitter - an old school d man

the guy hasnt been suspended in the last 10 years

he plays hard and, i guess it could be argued, on the fringe
but dirty is a stretch imo

the hit, on the other hand, certainly was dirty

now wilson on the other hand - he is there with pure intent to injure and serves really no other purpose
there is no reason a guy like that should even be in the league

Orpik is a dirty hack. He headhunts with the worst of them. If you don't think so, you need only consult a few YouTube clips to verify. Or do you think Shawn Thornton gave him a facial for being a boyscout?

Too bad, cuz Orpy is a solid defenseman....when he isn't dishing out dirty cheap shots.

Are you sure about that??? His play may have contributed to the Pens trading him.
There's a fine line between old time hockey and taking dirty shots. Orpik crosses the line on many occasions.

Capitals’ Brooks Orpik suspended three games for hit on Penguins’ Olli Maatta
May 1, 2016
"The resulting injury and Orpik’s disciplinary history — he has been suspended twice previously — led to the ruling."

Brooks Orpik frustrated with his penalties
October 30, 2015
"Orpik leads the team with 12 penalty infraction minutes for six minors. His average of 1 minute 30 seconds puta him on pace for 123; he had 66 last year. Orpik, 35, hasn’t had more than 70 penalty minutes since the 2008-09 season, so it’s unlikely that trend will change this year; after just eight games, it’s too small a sample size to accurately project Orpik’s penalty minutes. Orpik’s penalty minutes rank 40th in the league.
