Brothers and Sisters I had the chance to sample some of the Old Rip Van Winkle 10yr and now I'd love to find more.

If anyone has the hook up please message me.

Can trade sticks and/or those wallet candelas. Just looking for something reasonable in asking price.

Thanks!!

I saw for 350 on CL yesterday =(

According to bottle blue book, auction prices are around 225-250 and private sale, classifieds, or facebook are in the 275-300 range.

CL can be a huge ripoff for bourbons since the boom. Folks are buying rare bottles and rebottling with cheaper and selling at high prices. Fleabay supposedly shut down the sell of liquor on their site. You still see some there but not near as much as the past. Bottles are selling for a premium on fleabay so they can rebottle and make dough. SMMFH

Yea, I've seen some crazy things going on with the whiskey lately! Prices very different and wide range as well.

Maybe I can find the Whistle Pig Rye easier.

Isn't the Weller 12 the same stuff two years older, with a different label?

Orvw comes out on top in blind tastings often. The 10 yr 107pf is solid combo but its no 300 dollar snizz

The place I tried the ORVW serves the 12yr as well. I prefer the ORVW but honestly if I could find the 12yr I'd take that.

The Whistle Pig Rye is a very nice blend that has a chile spice at the end that is very enjoyable.

Those of you that live in Virginia, keep an eye out on your local ABC for Abraham Bowman Wheated Bourbon. Released at the distillery in May. SOld out in a day. SOme went into distribution with VABC. I haven't heard any news since then yet. I'm hoping to get my coworkers to get a bottle for me. Very curious to hear if its similar to Weller, or winkles, or has its own character. Same mashbill though.

Also back on topic, I'm feeling around for some reasonable priced ORVW!

Not rally 😞 A friend has a bottle he's unwilling to part with. Rest are crazy prices online or craigslist.

There are some flipping groups on facebook that I'm not super familiar with (no facebooks for me). Its prolly best place to find if you're going to buy at 2nd market price.

My local has the regular Whistle Pig Rye (around $80) and the 12 Year Whistle Pig Rye ($127)

The 12 year old world is supposed to be good if you like the wine finished stuff. The regular rye "private barrel" pick cask strength i've heard blows the regular non cask strength version out of the water. I wasn't very fond after trying some other ryes.

In fact.. you want an open bottle of whistle pig? Maybe 1/4 or less gone.
