Drafter uses lettuce (though he never eats it.....) 😟
Someone told me to not use the cat litter...not sure if you are being serious or not, especially given the lettuce comment. So random.

Never tried kitty litter, but many here have said they have had success with it.
Personally, I use Heartfelt 65% beads in ALL my humis and coolers, and they work GREAT . . . just a wee bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

I use the same. They are pricey relative to other beads but you are talking about $35 per ~100qt of space... cigars in that space could be worth much more than $1,000 so peace of mind is worth the small added cost

I don't use KL, but I do consider it a viable alternative....mostly I'm amused by the animated arguments about it
I use HF beads. Get them from HF directly. If you're a veteran, send them a note telling them so. David is great guy -- used to offer vets a discount -- not sure if he still does. Seems pricey, but they last for years, are low maintenance and well worth it in the long run.

Thanks! I essentially get nothing when I try to search.
Yank the Crank is on fire. These are all great issues that have never been discussed here before.

I promise I tried to search for something but the search function brings up literally nothing for me.
No worries.
You're using the noop Search link. Once your post count and $$ spent reaches the appropriate level, a little red star will appear next to the "Search" link. Then you'll have access to the good search engine, as well as free shipping, special discounts and of course matches and humidified delivery.
Hey guys, I am thinking about switching over to a cooler for my cigar storage. Can you fill me in on the humidification beads for this method? Is this the only good way to properly humidify a cooler? What is the best product to buy that won't break the bank and where is the best place to get them for a good price?
All my big Sterilite tubs use one gel jar, four 69% Boveda packs spread out inside, and of course lots of cigars.
I have rock-solid correct humidity, in all the containers. I just refill the gel jars with distilled water as needed, and they refill the Bovedas automatically through excess water vapor released into the air. I never have to replace or even touch the Bovedas, and the jars last for many years... I don't even know how long, since I can't remember ever replacing one yet.
I've had no problems with this arrangement.
.
Nothing can touch him you plebe.
Also, how do you decide what humidity level you should get (60, 65, 70)?
