Yesterday, or maybe Thursday, I smoked the labelled well aged La Gloria Cubana and it was exactly what I expected and wanted. What I remembered from when LGC was my go to brand at the shpo. Enjoyed it.
Today I'm trying the Acme Premier. Never heard of it. Thought I'd add a short review. I finished the blind ones, but since it's not a known brand, figured I'd share my take.
Cold draw dry hay/grass/dusty.
Initial light a bit dry, mild bite on retrohale. Somewhat floral finish which makes me feel like sneezing. Weird. Not sure I'll like it, suspect it's going to pepper it up and get stronger than I prefer.
Inch or so in, and getting the sweet nutty creamy flavors and mouthfeel I love. This is the texture and flavor profile I absolutely love in a cigar. Overall I'd say the flavor strength is square medium. The creaminess is not very rich, but it's there.
Halfway, even creamier, coats the mouth, flavors linger. Wood up front, spices on the finish. Pretty sweet, but with a dry finish. I am enjoying this more than I expected.
Last 2" increased presence but flavors solid and unchanged. Less dry.
At 1" I'm setting it down to get to bed at a reasonable time.
Fantastic cigar. Thank you much.
