When comparing the robusto to corona (or others) be sure to pay attention to John's current classifications - WF, LC, or EL.

For example, the current robbie is offered in LC and EL, and the corona is EL. Believe the Santos rolled Genios are WF and not the EL currently offered on the board.

Smoked the corona, definitely fresh. I didn't exactly dry box it, but it sat at the po over the weekend.

Smoked ok for the most part till it got down to the end of it.

Hard for me to compare it to anything, It kept reminding me of a tat capa especial more than anything though, boli popped in my head a few times.

I think I need to dry box before I smoke the rest of them like you guys said. I can't help it though, I'm impatient.

You are right Cac, the Genios are Santos and not the EL on his current list, and the Robs are LC while the Corona Extra was WF and also a Santos roll.

I had a couple ask me what LC stood for and I couldn't answer with 100% certainty, maybe you could shed some light on what it stands for.

So who rolled what? I'd like to mention that on my cigar bands so I know what to get in the future.

yeah, it looks like the Behique are a WF (Santos?) roll, and the lanceros are either a WF or EL, but i would guess a WF based on cost. this is all guessing btw.

There were no EL in the sampler.

Santos was the roller of the Behique, Genios, Corona Extra, and Lancero. The Robs are not under Johnny's World Famous label and he did not specify who the roller was so I am not sure on those.

Enjoy! I had fun roasting those Johnny o's :D

Edit:

Oh, some of those little lfds have been a bit tight, might want to give em a poke first (LFD El Carajon).

Edit #2:

The Padron is a Padron 6000, my favorite normal Padron.

Edit #3:

lol, 3rd edit!!! The LFD is not a Mysterio (old release), it's the cigar formerly known as Mysterio... had to check the box.

I really like that overly strong overt taste of the namakubi lancero but that whole "he's leaving the industry" thing doesnt sit well with me. Could have just as easily said "he's splitting with Davidoff."

jjanecka wrote:

Yeah I have no clue where "Leaving the industry" came from. I would have loved to been a fly on the wall during the conversation on why he split with Davidoff.

I love the Namakubi as well. I have still yet to try a payback. I wonder if it has that unique Room 101 flavor as well. Any thoughts on it JJ?

Oh and to keep with the post subject... I fired up another of my Johnny O after dryboxing. I will have to admit, It was a lot better this go around. Not that the first one was not damn good ROTT. I can see another purchase in my future.

I seen them the other day in the bottom of one of my tupperdores and thought about lighting one up but I passed. I am curious how they are smoking now.

I bought some salomons back in 2018, those have been smoking like ass; however the ones that I got from this split have been pretty enjoyable.

Had a behique 54 end of January. Loved it, really developed nicely, even with a cracked wrapper. Was looking to get a few more.

Back with some thoughts.

Enjoyed the CE last night. Draw was a little snug, just a tad tighter than what I prefer but not an issue. Although not very good at picking out flavors, I did detect some raisin but that’s about the only one I could readily identify. Gonna let the other 2 I have rest for another year or so.

The one I smoked was a good smoke draw was decent about like you describe.
