trumpenfurher now says he will defy the Supreme Court (which is already a conservative court thanks to mconnel's completely anti-american screwing around) and put the "citizenship question" in the census.

I don't think they're going to defy the SCOTUS, who basically reamed them for lying in their argument about the purpose of the citizenship question, using a polite term: "contrived"...

If the census is about districting and representation, what would/should the government do with information gleaned from such a question?

If the census isn't about representation, why does Constitution require it at all? Would have been nice if the founding fathers specified 'count the citizens' or 'count every single living human'.......if someone can find a way to drive inanity into current politics by looking for loopholes in the Constitution, they're going to do it

This is not to discuss whether the RULING OF THE SUPREME COURT is correct or not.
It's to discuss the fact that the idiotic potus is saying he will ignore THE RULING OF THE SUPREME COURT.

go dredge up one of the other threads if you want to dig into whether the ruling is correct.

I honestly don't know how you could ask something so dumb....

I mean, the layers of dumb are astounding.
First... you assume (incorrectly) that conservative appointed judges supported the question.
Second... .you fail to understand that the court doesn't re-hear the same case just because the judges changed....
Third... you fail to understand how time works....

I've already said on multiple other issues that it is foolhardy to get outraged because Trump considered or said something....

I don't even know what all has been said today...but, I would bet that tomorrow or the next day we'll find that Trump said he wants the question on there....or that legal avenues should continue to be investigated....or something else far more ambiguous than ordering the Census Bureau violate a Supreme Court decision
