Bucky... Your argument is "it isn't fun to think about why people do the things they do".

That's not really a smart argument

I mean.... Maybe you should think more about where this stuff comes from, and why people do it.

Look at Gene.... he's happily posting a bad argument, which originated the same places as the "SJW", "Kek" and "Red Pill" crap started from. He's probably spread it to more people than just us... and when pressed he'll say something like "It's just a fun cartoon, don't take it too seriously". But someone else will have already copy/pasted it and posted it somewhere else.

This is how poor critical thinking spreads like a virus.

Or maybe I just don't really care that much to spend energy on analyzing where people get their ideas and what (if any) the presumed deeply seated master plan is. My life is to short to worry about what others think or how they got to where they are. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. After all, most likely I can't change them even if I wanted to. Your results may vary.

I've never understood where people think it takes "energy" to analyze any of this.

The NPC meme is a known thing. Once you've learned it (hey, you learned it a few posts ago.... or already knew it) it takes zero effort to "know" it any longer.

The act of reading a dumb meme is the entirety of the "energy" required. If you can't see everything I pointed out when you first read it and would need time to actually "analyze" it, then.... well I'm sorry.

I guess you can feel good that you're not the first person to make this "why would I spend energy on analyzing X" argument. So at least you have some company.

If you have the energy to post a meme wouldn’t it take the same effort to understand its origins or what it perpetuates. You are pushing a message as your own or at least one you agree with. If it’s important enough to push to others connected to you it should be important enough for you to understand.

Even if you don’t upfront when you do find out why argue? That isn’t an energy issue it just means you don’t care what it perpetuates and you at least tacitly support the same ideas they do.

Not meant for Bucky or gene. Just in general.

I don’t care what folks do and it doesn’t hurt me but once you become comfortable pushing the message of certain groups even though that’s not your intent it might be worth a moments thought....or not. It depends who you are.

This is the second time you've referenced the "learning to code" thing. Is this a callback I'm missing? I tried googling it but .... well... that's not really a very efficient phrase to search.

I think it’s pretty clear

The thing is this character is easily traced to white supremacy groups. Doesn’t take much energy. I don’t think gene is racist for sending it out nor do I think cbid is for approving it thus making it a reflection of them. When you don’t know you don’t know. When you do and are ok with it that’s another thing.

The meme was invented by some snowflake with white privilege. It's the new normal now that we have TDS. But the moonbats and neocons share the same fake news, just from different sources.

The meme originated in 4chan, the alt-right/white-supremacist message board... so I guess snowflake with white privilege fits. The rest of your post is literal gibberish.

Again, is it really that important to you that you spend time and energy digging into the root source of where it came from? Who the cares?

Me: I looked at it, rolled my eyes and moved on. But apparently you feel the need or desire to go on a hunting trip to prove something (I don't know or care what) to somebody to show them how super smart you are or something.

Egads, you must really be bored but good work Sherlock, another mystery solved!

Hats off and clappy hands to you. =d>

Bucky I think you are talking to victor. I’m speaking in general here not about you.

I dont think you have to spend any time looking in to anything or everything. If someone else does and shows you that you are perpetuating something foul from those groups and that’s fine with you that’s your choice. We all have our own comfort level.

As for cbid if and when they discover the origins they should think about having it posted as well. That’s also their choice and a business decision. They approve these pictures. If it meets their business standards I dont really care ... seriously. I ain’t mad. What folks accept and don’t accept isn’t upsetting it’s merely informative.

Not knowing isn’t racist. Once you do it becomes debatable.
