Firefighters... go where others fear to tread...

After the cops tell them it's safe.

Welcome from a fellow noob.

Wait, a degree in fire sciences? I have a lot of respect for fire men/women/they/shim/her/whatever-pronouns-we-can-use, but a DEGREE?

I mean, FIRE=HOT=BURN. Doesn't that pretty much sum things up? How the hell do you get a degree in that (said in Mike Rowe voice)?

obviously, there're some deep mysteries involved in the triangle of heat, fuel and oxygen

Firefighting goes beyond the triangle and putting water on it. Different classes of fires, different means of extinguishing, different reactions to different extinguishing agents, etc. I've merely got a basic working knowledge of it, as all sailors on a naval ship must have. Especially those working in engineering.

Obviously a lot more to it than heat-fuel-oxygen. But if you remove one of the three... the fire goes out.

Totally agree it can be complicated, no disrespect at all to the fire fighting profession.

The bone I was picking was with a university offering a full degree program in "fire sciences"...

Do they have a football team ? I wanted to be a fireman when I was very young - it lasted about 2 days.

As someone studying to to get various subcode official, building inspector & plan review licenses EVERYTHING IS FIRE CODE!

Well, it seems like that anyway.

A bit overwhelmed at the moment. Gotta stay out of this forum and keep my face in the books

I wish it was only both ends.

Just settled on a flip house that's a complete gut & starting a basement finish job for one of my wealthiest customers.(hedge fund manager) It is the biggest contract I've ever sold in my 30 years of contracting.

Meanwhile good help is impossible to find due to the gubment dole.

The annual tournament of champions is next Friday (big $)

Now that I need the good luck wishes for!

I should stop crying as I am thankful for these "problems"

Thanks!
