The Reprehensible Audacity Of FEMA Being Broke
We don’t even have the decency to fake as though we care about our own citizens anymore.

Part of what I love about having this blog is that it is cathartic for me when I want to be heard, understood, or otherwise just bitch and moan about things in the world of finance, the economy, and politics that I find askew.

From the jump, one of the things I have written about is how dead wrong both sides of the political aisle have our fiscal and monetary policy. With monetary policy, both parties have quietly fallen in line under the mutated breed of Keynesian economics our Federal Reserve implements, which rests on the sole idea of printing money and praying that either hyperinflation doesn’t occur or the economy doesn’t collapse.

Republicans occasionally criticize the Federal Reserve and pepper in objections here and there about our abuse of the dollar, but when all is said and done, they fall in line behind monetary policy as it stands today. Democrats have gone full non sequitur and, through the miracle of faux-intellectual academic bull**** squared, have somehow convinced themselves that none of the basic rules of economics—such as debits and credits and supply and demand—exist anymore.

When it comes to fiscal policy, Democrats are the main offenders. Republicans have a longer track record of wanting to rein in spending and reduce the size of government, whereas Democrats are often pushing for larger government and more spending. There have been exceptions, like when Bill Clinton balanced the budget and when Donald Trump ran some of the largest deficits in the country’s history, but that’s the general gist of things.

No matter what lens you look at it through, the nation has racked up an accelerating tab of debt at a pace that is mind-boggling. For example, just over the last month, the United States added over $300 billion to our national debt, which is now fast approaching $36 trillion.

We have consistently shown ourselves to be unable to balance the budget, and no matter how much we tax our citizens, we are always going to wind up spending more than we are bringing in. It’s the American way for everyday individuals at home with their personal savings and credit cards, just as it is the American way for those who run our Treasury.

It’s been a mainstay of this blog that I believe our spending addiction is going to end very poorly for the United States. And sadly, I’ve made some peace with it. I truly don’t believe there’s turning back from the dire situation we’re in now.

But let me clue you in on something I haven’t made peace with.

After the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene, FEMA has all of a sudden come out and said it doesn’t have enough funds to make it through hurricane season. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas warned this week that FEMA is running low on funds.

“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have. We are expecting another hurricane hitting,” Mayorkas said. “FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season.”

While Mayorkas didn’t specify the exact funding needed, his comments reflect growing concerns from President Biden and lawmakers that a supplemental spending bill may be necessary this fall to support recovery efforts.

I’ve spent the last four years watching as millions of people have crossed unchecked through our southern border and have been treated like royalty by the Biden administration while everyday citizens struggle with rising prices, crumbling infrastructure, and the negative effects of suffocating regulation.

I’ve also spent the last four years watching the United States dole out close to $50 billion in foreign aid, mainly to Ukraine to help it press on with a war that realistically it has little chance of winning, while shaking down waitstaff, Uber drivers and anybody using Venmo for purposes of more than $600 for tax receipts.

And in my short time in the world of finance, I’ve seen enough omnibus spending bills—with funds allocated for things like border security in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Oman and family planning to halt population growth that "threatens biodiversity or endangered species"—to have developed a deep loathing for how our government and our Treasury manage finances.

So when sorry-ass Alejandro Mayorkas—who has sworn up and down for the last three years that there’s no crisis at the southern border while parts of the country have been overrun and overwhelmed by unchecked, undocumented, and sometimes criminal migrants—takes to publicly decrying that FEMA is out of money in the midst of one of the largest domestic disasters in the country’s history, it’s absolutely revolting to watch.

Not only is it grotesque because of how we have squandered away hundreds of billions of dollars on things that everyday U.S. citizens are not going to see an impact from, but it’s even worse when examined under the umbrella of how we run monetary policy in this country.

There once was a day when, if you needed to fund government entities, you actually had to have the revenue coming in from taxpayers because we couldn’t just print dollars ad infinitum anytime we wanted. Those were the days of sound money, and they are long gone.

FEMA being broke today means not just that we have pissed away the money that we could have allocated for it to non-U.S. citizens and fruitless causes — it’s far more insulting than that. It means that in a day and age where we can theoretically print endless fiat dollars and have an ‘infinite amount of cash’—an idea that I think is completely bat**** insane, but our Fed governors don’t—that we still have not stocked the coffers of our domestic agencies with the bare minimum necessary for them to help the American people when they need to.

In other words, if the money is all fake, and we can conjure up as much of it as we want without any consequences, as both political parties would have you believe over the last several decades, why should FEMA ever be asking for more money to help hurricane victims?

If we want it, the solution isn’t bringing in more money from taxpayers, nor is it even spending less on other useless bull****. The solution is literally moving a couple of decimal places on an Excel spreadsheet somewhere, probably at the New York Federal Reserve, and then in the Treasury Department, and then hitting a button.

As I’ve written a million times on this blog, this is a deeply troubling way to run monetary policy that is ultimately going to result in devastation for the country, in my opinion. But it takes things to a new level of sad for me to realize that not only do we not have the decency to run monetary policy in an honorable way in this country, we don’t even have the decency to press a couple buttons, make the hollow gesture to stock FEMA’s bank accounts before the nation goes bankrupt and at least fake as though we care about our own citizens anymore.

Joe Biden Has Held Just 2 Public Events Before 11:00 a.m. Since Stepping Aside as Candidate

President Joe Biden, 81, has reportedly held only two public events before 11:00 a.m. and none before 10:00 a.m. since dropping out of the presidential race on July 21.

Biden’s relaxed schedule seems to underscore Vice President Kamala Harris’s role in White House decision making. Last week, Biden stated that he delegated “everything” as commander-in-chief to Harris, including foreign policy and domestic policy.

The nation currently faces many serious crises: hurricane relief efforts in North Carolina and other states, the southern border invasion, the Ukraine/Russia war, and an Iranian missile attack on Israel.

“With one exception, all publicly scheduled calls and meetings with other world leaders have been between 11am and 5pm — a sign of how Biden’s staff continues to narrow his work hours as they manage his stamina,” Axios’s Alex Thompson and Neal Rothschild reported:

Even before the disastrous nighttime debate in June that led to the end of his re-election campaign, Biden’s aides had privately noted that he’s reliably on message between 10am and 4pm — and more likely to get fatigued and have trouble speaking outside those hours.

Before he withdrew from the race, Biden tried to reassure Democratic governors that he would get more sleep to avoid a repeat debate performance, and would stop scheduling events after 8pm.

Biden has also continued to avoid the media. He has sat for few interviews and only occasionally responds to questions outside the White House before or after flights.

When the public does catch a glimpse of the president, his cognition appears in poor shape. Biden saying he delegated “everything” as commander-in-chief to Harris was a blow to her, as she is trying to distance herself from the Biden-Harris record.

“I’m obviously not Joe Biden, and you know, I offer a new generation of leadership,” Harris told Brian Taff of Philadelphia’s Action News 6 ABC on September 13. “My approach is about new ideas, new policies that are directed at the current moment. And also, to be very honest with you, my focus is very much in what we need to do over the next ten, twenty years to catch up to the twenty-first century.”

In a separate incident, Biden appeared confused when a reporter asked him on Thursday about relief for Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina. “What do the states in the storm zone need — after what you saw today?”

“Oh, storm zone? I didn’t know which storm you’re talking about,” Biden replied:

In Biden’s absence, Harris announced just $750 in aid for Hurricane Helene victims, mere days after she and Biden announced $8 billion in a new installment of aid for Ukraine.

“WHO IS RUNNING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?!” Kylie Jane Kremer, the executive director of Women for America First, questioned. “This is beyond concerning. It is a NATIONAL EMERGENCY that we do not have a Commander In Chief.”

Americans quickly understood by the end of the week the big theme in Biden-Harris' botched hurricane response efforts, very similar to the dismal response in East Palestine, Ohio, as explained by The Bishop of Mises Institute: "This horrific natural disaster is a reminder of the extent to which the regime [Biden-Harris] hates the people who live there."

Folks were even more shocked when the US Homeland Security secretary warned that FEMA funds were running dry for hurricane disaster funding. This is because the Biden-Harris team diverted $1.4 billion to address the migrant crisis they helped create through open southern border policies.

I'm pretty cynical after what happened to me and my wife during Covid. It takes a lot to surprise me when it comes to the Federales. Not surprised at all that they aren't helping people in need-- whether it's because of spite or incompetence who knows.

What is surprising to me is that they aren't letting private citizens help. Goods & cash are being confiscated and people are being threatened with arrest for trying to help fellow Americans. Next level evil really.

All you have is yourself, family, and if you're lucky, friends. Prepare accordingly.

Viktor Bout, the Russian arms dealer known as the “Merchant of Death,” walked out of a U.S. jail almost two years ago in a trade with Moscow for U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner. Now he is back in business, trying to broker the sale of small arms to Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militants.

Leaked US Intelligence Documents Related To Israel's Attack Preparations On Iran Appear Online

A major leak of US classified documents has appeared online Saturday... or we should qualify alleged leaks of at least two TOP SECRET documents, with both marked NOFORN - which is among the highest classifications - given it indicates the specific intelligence cannot be shared with allied foreign intelligence agencies.

A breaking Axios report suggests their authenticity: "U.S. officials are extremely concerned about a potentially major security breach after two alleged U.S. intelligence documents about Israel's preparations for an attack on Iran were published by a Telegram account affiliated with Iran," Barak Ravid, who maintains close Israeli military and intelligence sources, writes.

The documents include one which was reportedly authored by the Department of Defense National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), dubbed a "Visual Intelligence" report and distributed among the US intelligence community (IC) earlier this week, and dated to Oct.14-16.

Neither the Pentagon nor NGA have offered official confirmation or comment, nor are they likely to. The documents first appeared on a pro-Iran Telegram channel. Axios has identified the channel name as "Middle East Spectator".

The docs first appeared online Friday, but the Axios report has strongly pointed to the authenticity of leak.

The region has remained on edge as Israel prepares to retaliate against Iran for its Oct.1st ballistic missile attack which saw some 200 projectiles pummel various sites in central Israel, some of which were said to be Iranian hypersonics. Axios has noted that "The leak could be an attempt to disrupt the Israeli operation."

A US official told Axios that the alleged leak is "extremely concerning" - again implying authenticity. The leak is also being described as potential very serious breach within the US intelligence community.

As for content of the documents, they contain information on Israel's military transferring advanced munitions, possibly readying them for a planned attack on the Islamic Republic. One of the classified docs has the following header:

It also states that according to U.S. signals intelligence, the Israeli Air Force conducted a large exercise this week involving intelligence planes and likely fighter jets trained for a possible attack against Iran.
The alleged intelligence report also detailed preparations in Israeli drone units for an attack against Iran.

The documents, if accurate, reveal the efforts by US intelligence to closely monitor the preparations of US ally Israel for an attack on Iran. In this scenario the US Geospatial-Intelligence Agency using its spy satellites to track movements at Israeli Air Force bases.

Will A Potemkin Election Follow Biden’s Potemkin Presidency?
Blindfolds and systemic deceit are the death of self-government.

President Biden has been derided for being a Potemkin president, a figurehead in a vast charade portraying him actually running the government. Biden was forced to withdraw from the presidential race after his disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump in June. But is a Potemkin presidency being followed by a Potemkin election?

Biden’s expulsion from the presidential race did not herald the arrival of truth. Most of the media still tolerates pervasive secrecy on prime issues of the 2024 campaign.

In bygone times, elections were about self-government. Nowadays, voters merely have a cameo role to sanctify the nearly boundless power of officialdom. Every year, the federal government slaps a “secret” label on trillions of pages of information – enough to fill 20 million filing cabinets. And since the government is automatically benevolent (if a Democrat is president), there is no need to trouble citizens with the grisly details of how they are being served.

At the same time Special Counsel Jack Smith is racing to fling all possible dirt at Trump before Election Day, each week we learn of new cover-ups designed to deceive Americans about how badly they have been misgoverned:

Biden administration has mostly succeeded in covering up the crime wave by illegal aliens ushered into the nation since 2021. Former Border Patrol Sector Chief Aaron Heitke testified to Congress last month that the Biden administration hid the adverse impact from deluging U.S. cities with illegal aliens, including those with terror ties.

The National Archives announced on Wednesday that it would delay until after the election the release of potentially damning records on Vice President Joe Biden’s dealings with his son and foreign wheelers-dealers – records that have been sought for more than a year by conservative lawyers and activists.

Biden’s Justice Department sought to bury all the tax charges against Hunter Biden but were thwarted thanks to courageous IRS whistleblowers. The House Oversight Committee this week subpoenaed DHS for its records on Tim Walz’s possible ties to the CCP after being contacted by a whistleblower. There is zero chance that the Biden administration will release any of those records before Election Day.

Political convenience is practically the sole determinant of what Americans are permitted to learn nowadays. After Biden dropped his re-election bid, the administration disclosed records showing that his son Hunter sought U.S. government handouts for Burisma when Joe Biden was Vice President. That scandal was buried until Joe Biden was no longer politically relevant.

Federal judge Terry Doughty noted that “virtually all of the free speech suppressed was ‘conservative’ free speech.” A federal appeals court issued an injunction prohibiting federal officials from acting “to coerce or significantly encourage social-media companies to remove, delete, suppress, or reduce . . . posted social-media content containing protected free speech.”

Exposing that issue could derail Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign so it is ignored. But Biden is as oblivious as ever. When asked by a reporter on Thursday about the situation in the Hurricane Helene storm zone, Biden replied that those states “are getting everything they need. They are very happy across the board.”

But as long as Donald Trump is not elected next month, most of the Washington media doesn’t care who is in control. If the Wizard of Oz was a contemporary political campaign story, the media would overwhelmingly side with the guy behind the curtain. As long as the Wizard recited “Orange Man Bad,” the media would cover up all his abuses.

But “informed consent” is a mirage if the feds blindfold voters. As long as Team Biden keeps a lid on its worst outrages until Election Day, Democrats can snare four more year to abuse the Constitution, the law, and the American people. Unfortunately, self-government is not retroactive.

I happened to watch Maria Bartiromo this morning on FOX. She had a segment on how the Lying TV Media Scum completely edited out her question to Trump, "What are you expecting? Nowhere Man: Joe Biden Reportedly Blocked from Campaign Trail by Harris Team

President Joe Biden is the nowhere man in the 2024 election race as Vice President Kamala Harris’s team simply ignores his entreaties to hit the campaign trail at her side, a report Sunday suggests.

Three people told Axios the Harris campaign keeps saying they’ll get back to the octogenarian’s team on when to send him out into the field – and then simply move on.

The Harris campaign views Biden as a political liability since his defenestration but doesn’t want to say directly they have no need for his efforts.

Democrats and some of Biden’s staff keep walking on eggshells around Biden’s delicate sensibilities, according to the outlet.

One person said it’s like a slow-moving break-up, with Harris’s team respecting Biden, but don’t want to connect a president with a 39 percent approval rating, according to FiveThirtyEight average, to their candidate who’s in a historically close race.

“He’s a reminder of the last four years, not the new way forward,” one person told Axios, referencing Harris’s slogan.

Biden’s unpopularity and increasingly diminished position has also kept him more sidelined on the campaign trail, officials said.

In a NBC News poll, just 25 percent of voters said Biden’s presidency has helped them and their families, with 45 percent saying his time in office has hurt them.

When it comes to Trump’s time in office, on the other hand, 43 percent of voters said it helped them and their families, versus 31 percent who said his presidency hurt them.

With Election Day just over a week away, there are currently no events scheduled for Biden, 81, and Harris, 60, to campaign together.
