Speaking of E-bikes... been seriously considering the "Lectric" bike with the upgraded battery and the cargo pkg. Mailbox is almost a mile away... sometimes I check it when I walk the dog, but if not it seems wasteful to start the truck to drive less than a mile.

Also... many stores are within 1-2 miles of the house. WalMart and Costco are about 5-6 miles. Again... if I am not getting a bunch of stuff, the bike seems to be a much better option than starting and stopping the truck without even getting it up to temp.

I had one of those fitbit thingies years ago. May need to invest in another. Just to see how many steps I'm getting in. What with the dog walks and such, I bet a lot.

Have been back and forth on them. Many upsides- more upside than down. If I could get over one more downside, would pull the trigger.

Downsides:
Storage: can’t keep it in the garage from November through March. Don’t remember what the exact temperature they can live comfortably in. Want to say it was around 40.
Battery Instability: Been hearing about lithium battery fires in houses and apartments. Why is that happening?
Price: So many variables. Rear or mid engine mounts, weights, braking systems, throttles. Hate to go too cheap, although Bucky has had good luck with a $500 model. Am not mechanically inclined. The two bigger bike shops in the area only work on bikes they sell.

Would want to have a cargo package like Shawn mentions. Important to get a durable high end lock for it too. Crime isn’t a big issue here, although according to on sales rep, three were stolen in the last month. All were locked up. Somebody with a bolt cutters.

Is there any locking system which could foil a bolt cutter?

90% of the mailboxes are in one big bunch at the clubhouse. Each cluster is lettered and numbered. Mine is K-11.

There are a few other smaller clusters in a couple places. I guess it makes it a hell of a lot easier on the mail lady. 3-4 stops and the whole damn neighborhood is done.

Missed the eclipse - didn't really care much - wife saw it but complained about how cold it got out on the deck this AM.

Next up is to get dressed and go vote.
