I hear you Shawn. I will put more effort in to watching my diet: cut the carbs, the processed junk, and the sweets. More fruits and veggies and proteins...check
I've re-started single malt scotch again so I've gotta limit that to an ounce or two once or twice a week. Moderation is the key...check
Exercise regularly...4-5 mile walking every day. Light dumb-bell workouts once/twice a week...check
Monitor blood glucose daily to ensure it's in safe range...check.
Get blood work done every 6 months to ensure blood A1C count is in acceptable range, more frequently if results aren't in the zone...check.
Monitor weight to ensure BMI is below obesity level...check.
I know what to do...just have to be disciplined and follow through. But it is really helpful to have friends who will remind you to stay on or near the path, and rein you in if you get off track. Thanks, Bro!

Kaiser has a very good diabetes treatment program... blood and urine tests regularly.... retina exams annually...foot exams regularly. They schedule RN telephone sessions to discuss diets, blood test results, health in general. On-line library of diabetes related educational resources. They want to make sure you stay healthy.
