Can't sleep.

Couldn't stay awake on the couch, then 3 hours of wide awake in bed.

Every relationship has their own dynamic. What works for one couple doesn't work for others. But maybe I'll try that tonight.

Hey Honey,
I'd like to get the same deal as DanM's wife has in his relationship. To mirror that, this is how it is going to be going forward:

I'm going to quit my 18 hour a week job and bring no income into the family.
You work full time and bring in 100% of the income.
I'm going to let you have $500.
I get the rest.

This starts tomorrow.

MACS,
Any idea how that would be received?

You have any cardboard for your "will work for food" sign? Green Bay gonna be awful cold this time of year. You'll probably need one of them fancy sleeping bags that keep you warm in sub zero temps, too.

I'd be a pal and say you could come stay with me... but you ain't livin' here for free, neither. [gonzo]

Separate accounts for the wifey and I. I brought 75% to the wedding and it seems to work out fine on most everything. She says I have too many cigars and humidors and I say she has too many shoes and goes to lunch with the ladies too often. Only time we really think about money is when all the 1099 forms start rolling in since we both have RMD. Holy chit!

Happy Friday folks. Headed to BJ with little brother and a buddy. BJ is like Disneyland for car guys.o:)

Traditional dynamic for the wife and I, as well. I made the majority of the income and now I am responsible for all of it.

Separate accounts. I manage money better, so I pay all the bills. I transfer money to her account each month about equal to what she took home when she was working. She does all the cleaning, most of the cooking, and it works for us.

Got a letter from corebridge financial today. Apparently they used to be AIG or something...

Anyway, I rolled all my $$ that was in the AIG 457 to the Nationwide 457 yeeeaaaars ago. Well, there was apparently still $300 in it... so now I get to roll that over too. After I fill out paperwork and submit it... 😣 😣

These f---bags should have moved ALL my money when I f---ing told them to. Bastids.

Bright side... I got $300 I didn't know I had.

Finding money always good macs.

Maybe the rollover distribution happened as an inbound transfer was happening and it grew to 300 over those yeeeaaars. Or a prorated refund on annual fees credited back or something.

Went to Costco. I hate that place.

But I did buy the smallest brisket they had. 19.8lbs. They had a 26 pounder in there!

Separate accounts with both names on each. I use my monthly check to pay all the household bills + a set savings amount. Rest is mine to keep. She uses her pay check for all groceries, meals out and most other things + a set amount to savings from each paycheck. Basically, we pay ourselves first. Works well for us...

Generously trimmed the brisket because I mostly went there to buy ground beef. They had no ground beef. They had 90/10 and 85/15. I like 70/30 but would settle for 80/20. I'm not paying $5/lb for ground meat. So I ground my own. Weighed it out for about a 70/30 grind, got 4lbs ground beef off the brisket.

I left a lot of fat on the brisket too, barely trimmed the cap. Mostly just shaped the brisket. Rubbed it and wrapped it in foil to sit in the fridge overnight. I'll cook it tomorrow.

Cut a couple stumps this evening with my 271.

Then sharpened the chain and rotated the bar on both the 271 and 180.

Got several small to medium trees to cut toward the eastern end of the yard, near the burn pile. Idk when, depends on the weather.

I'm also going to build a wood pile down that way. Already got a tarp, some pallets and a few sheets of aluminum. Figure it makes sense to store the firewood near where we burn. I'll keep a few bundles on the porch for any future camping trips.
