82485: RP Sun Grown Toro with thanks to Jake
This had such a strong flavor of anise that I couldn’t smoke more than an inch. I’m very sensitive to that black licorice taste, it makes me ill. But I do appreciate the cigar, Jake

82486: Cohiba Nicarauguan Robusto with thanks to Jake
Not much on the nose, good looking and feeling cigar. Tight draw finally got it to my liking w/the Perfec Draw tool I recently acquired on advice from Palama the hard azz. The cherry was getting very big and red but I couldn’t get much smoke out of it. Then it kept going out when I laid it down for more than about a minute and a half. Never had this experience. Also, as luck would have it, it had hints of anise flavor. I ended up tossing the last third and felt a little guilty because as far as I know these ain’t cheap. I’m glad I got to try a Cohiba though. The only Cohiba I’ve ever smoked was in Singapore in 1998 or 99. Even though I did smoke cigars occasionally back then I definitely was not trying to appreciate them as I’m trying to do now. Thank you, Jake for the smoke.

I enjoyed it. I would prefer the Espinosa 601 Maduro in comparison but I don’t know how close they are in price. Probably fairly close? Have you tried that box pressed Maduro 601?

Seems the powers that be have let the inmates run the asylum the past few years. But I'm sure they haven’t misplaced the banhammer.

Yeah jeebs I’ve had the 601 blue if that’s the one you’re talking. I liked it. My favorite 601 is the green (oscuro)

82489 - MF LB 1922 short romusto from JGRAZ
82490 - Rojas Street Tacos Barbacoa romusto from JGRAZ, thank you for both of these John!

As between the two, I liked the Rojas better. The MF was good. I thought the Rojas was very good. I can see me buying some of these.
Someone else gave me a street taco or two, maybe Jake and/or Tele. They're in the que, but I'm gonna have to dig 'em out early I think.

I’ve been a fan of Noel Rojas for a few years now so when he started expanding his line, I blindly bought some STB Short Coronas and Robustos. After trying them, bought more. I also enjoy the Bluebonnet line too. Of course ymmv.

IMHO, the MF LB 1922 Petit Robusto need at least two years of nap time to make them shine…but when they do, oh brother, they are frickin’ GOOD!

Edit: after checking my notes, iffin’ you have the patience of a Buddhist monk, four to 5 years is when those MFLBPR *really* come into their own.

Are lanceros more prone to tunneling because of less heat from less burning filler to burn the wrapper?

Man, that’s tough to hear. In my past experience, Tats were almost always well-rolled / constructed. There was a great consistency to them…at least back then.
