Now that California has mandated another $7 an hour raise the next step will be even fewer fast food jobs. Seems like when they started kicking around the last raise from $7.65 to $13 an hour many outlets invested heavily in kiosks and reduced workers and/or hours. Now that they’ve instituted another huge raise I suspect the fallout will be even worse for those meant to be helped than the last ill advised mandate.

At some point one would think the idiots in Sacramento would realize taking orders at McDonald’s isn’t a career position.

Well, the reality of it is that for a sizeable portion of the folks currently doing the job, it IS a career position.
This isn’t like yesteryear when McDonald’s predominately hired pimply faced high school kids who served up your fries and burger.
Lots of elderly folks, marginalized folks, semi retired folks, immigrants and so on work in the fast food industry.
For many of these folks, it’s one of the few options they have.

So you are saying that a lot of people will lose their jobs and will have to find another?
But LEFTY Progressive theory is if you artificially raise hourly pay above market prices by government fiat, the proles will get richer. 😕

Some would say that we don't want or need businesses that do not pay their full time people a living wage, as they wind up being of food stamps and so on.

Others will tell you that leveraging down labor costs is the only way to go, as nothing is so American as wage slavery.

But the concentration of wealth goes on unabated.

You lefties with your "living wage" and "wage slavery" shtick. You've got a lot of nerve since your progressive policies are most responsible for making people poorer.

My buddies in CA already sent me pictures of the new Kiosks in McDonalds. Nobody was taking orders.

Companies will automate or vacate. Mark my words. California politicians are bending Californians over.

I heard they going to fix that concentration of wealth thing by making people "pay their fair share" so the Democrats can have a greater concentration of more wealth.

The quickest and fairest way to fix this is through a free labor market. The government meddling never stops and it never helps. Also put tighter restrictions on entitlement programs. When businesses won’t pay labor enough to satisfy their needs then labor will follow the market where conditions satisfy them appropriately. Competition is good for labor and it also produces better, more efficient small and big businesses that benefit consumers. Let freedom reign.

And here's why...

"Newsom Pardons 37, Commutes Sentences for 14 Murderers and 4 Others"
