I’ve voted Libertarian in the past. Perot for ‘92 and Johnson for ‘12 and ‘16. I voted for Trump for ‘20 and will vote for him again in ‘24. I don’t consider myself a Libertarian but I’m closer to Libertarian than any of the other ideologies when I look closely. I’m no Republican but I consider myself on the Conservative end of the political spectrum. The Libertarians can’t stand any group, especially other Libertarians. Ideology aside. The party machine / leadership has crappy leadership and the body politic is severely fractured along ideological platform disagreements. One significant problem outside the rank and file is that the party has no voting history but rather a lot of speech makers. We need more serious politicians like Gary Johnson on record for their policy votes. Otherwise the Libertarian party will never be taken seriously, IMHO.

I think it is a very good idea to have Trump speak at the convention and I wish they could get Biden to do so. That would be a very good idea at the DNC and GOP conventions but I can see why it would be terrible in practice. Imagine any of those scenarios. Full riots, mayhem and bloodshed is not beyond the scope of likely outcomes.

"Left Mitt" Romney praises Trumps AG pick. Lol! Oh man. I think DMV's head just exploded.

"Senator Mitt Romney, a Utah Republican and a vocal critic of Donald Trump, praised the president-elect's second nomination for U.S. attorney general on Friday.

Romney, the sole Republican senator to vote twice to impeach Trump during his first presidency, congratulated Pam Bondi in a Friday post on X, formerly Twitter, calling her a "highly capable leader" for the Department of Justice (DOJ). "She served with excellence as Florida's Attorney General," the senator said."

Romney is a chameleon and a grifter. He thinks praising one of Trump's picks will get him into good graces.

I heard LEFTIES say that Pam Bondi is DANGEROUS because she's COMPETENT.

He's also on record stating that if he fired him the backlash would've been severe.

Well, knowing that it was all bull$hit and was a US bioweapon outsourced in Wuhan (to labs all over the globe) that was carelessly released to the planet. Never before were definitions of "vaccinations" altered to fit their narratives, and never was a vaccine "developed" in the middle of a pandemic. It was a "plandemic" to hide the crap the US is doing with taxpayer dollars and STILL IS! We really need to haul Fauci and those responsible in front of a global tribunal and try him for crimes against humanity.

Trump Effect: Mexico to Open Shelters for Deported Migrants by January 20: Report

The government of Mexico is planning to open twenty-five shelters for Mexican citizens deported by the incoming Trump administration. The shelters will be opened by Trump’s inauguration on January 20, according to comments by Baja California Gov. Marina del Pilar at a press conference Monday reported by Border Report.

The temporary shelters will hold about 500 each, totally 12,000. Some will house single men, others will house unaccompanied children, women and family units.

In the weeks after the November 5 election, President-elect Trump sparred with Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum over his threat to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada over the failure of those governments to stop migrants and drugs from coming into the U.S.

The announcement Monday by Gov. Marina del Pilar is a sign Trump is winning the battle with Sheinbaum.

Border Report excerpt:

Baja California Gov. Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda announced the Mexican government will open 25 new shelters to house deported migrants.

During a meeting with reporters on Monday in Tijuana, Ávila Olmeda said they are taking President-elect Donald Trump’s threats of mass deportations seriously, adding that six of the shelters are supposed to be set up in the city of Tijuana with two others in Mexicali, Baja’s capital city.

“This is a strategic plan to accommodate exclusively people who get deported after January 20,” she said.

…The facilities will only house Mexican migrants for a few days before they are sent to their hometowns in the interior of Mexico, Ávila Olmeda said.

Trump’s border czar in waiting, Tom Homan, has been making media appearances this month making clear Trump’s priorities: “Secure the border, run a deportation operation and find these children, 340,000 missing (migrant) children.” Homan has said that the priority for deportations will be aliens with criminal records, aliens with deportation orders, gang members and national security risks. Homan has also warned migrants not in those categories that they will be taken into custody for deportation proceedings if they are caught up in raids for targeted criminal aliens.

NBC News reported Homan’s comments on Trump’s priorities in an article published earlier this month (excerpt):

Homan, who was frequently asked during his appearances to explain how and with whom the repatriations will begin, echoes one of the few details of the plan that Trump has offered publicly himself: The deportations will begin with undocumented migrants who pose threats to either national or public security.

“President Trump has made it clear we will prioritize public safety threats and national security threats first and that’s what the focus would be,” Homan said of the deportation plan in an interview on Fox News’ “Hannity” program on Nov. 11. “There’s thousands of gang members, illegal alien gang members we’re going to be looking for. Now, I’m going to say if you’re in the country illegally, you shouldn’t feel comfortable, absolutely not. I won’t feel comfortable.”

“We have ways of finding people,” he said in a separate interview on the network’s “Ingraham Angle” on Nov. 20. “I’m not going to explain it here on national TV because of law enforcement sensitivity, but we will find many of these folks. They will be arrested, they’ll be detained, and they will be removed.”

Hedge funds bet billions on market crash in Trump’s America

"Hedge funds have bet billions of dollars against Donald Trump’s America amid fears of a market crash.

Data from Goldman Sachs show there has been a surge in “short” bets against US stocks, meaning traders will make money when they fall in value, in a sign of growing concerns about the market.

In January, investors have placed 10 times more bets on US stocks falling than equivalent bets that shares in leading American companies would rise, the investment bank said."

Musk Reveals Treasury Has Been Auto-Paying Everyone, 'Even Known Terrorist Groups'

Update (0942ET): Well, well, well - DOGE moves into the Treasury, triggering their longest-serving, highest-ranked career official to quit in a huff, and they find that department has essentially been auto-paying everyone, according to Elon Musk.

"The @DOGE team discovered, among other things, that payment approval officers at Treasury were instructed always to approve payments, even to known fraudulent or terrorist groups," said Musk in a Friday night tweet.

"They literally never denied a payment in their entire career."

* * *

The Treasury Department's highest-ranking career official quit after a clash with aides of Elon Musk over access to sensitive payment systems, according to the Washington Post, citing (of course), three anonymous sources.

David A. Lebryk, a decades-long Treasury official who President Trump named as acting secretary upon taking office last week, announced his retirement in a Friday email to colleagues. According to the report, Lebryk had a dispute with Musk surrogates over access to the US government's payment system used to disburse trillions of dollars every year.

[Imagine Musk and team uncover decades of improper payments and shady dealings?]

The Musk surrogates are affiliated with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and have been asking since the election for access to the system, according to the report. The requests were reiterated after Trump's inauguration.

After Trump pick Scott Bessent was confirmed as Treasury Secretary on Monday, Lebryk ceased to be acting agency head.

The payment system in question is run by a handful of career officials within the Bureau of the Fiscal Service - which controls the flow of more than $6 trillion annually to households, businesses, and other entities nationwide - and includes Social Security, Medicare, federal salaries, payments to government contractors, tax refunds, grant recipients, and more.

The clash is the latest incident involving career 'deep state' bureaucrats vs. the Trump administration. And of course, WaPo, the CIA's favorite tentacle, frames it as follows:

The clash reflects an intensifying battle between Musk and the federal bureaucracy as the Trump administration nears the conclusion of its second week. Musk has sought to exert sweeping control over the inner workings of the U.S. government, installing longtime surrogates at several agencies, including the Office of Personnel Management, which essentially handles federal human resources, and the General Services Administration, which manages real estate. (Musk was seen on Thursday visiting GSA, according to two other people familiar with his whereabouts, who also spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal matters. That visit was first reported by the New York Times.) His Department of Government Efficiency, originally conceived as a nongovernmental panel, has since replaced the U.S. Digital Service.

Translation:

Unfortunately for the career bureaucrats, Trump signed an executive order instructing all agencies to ensure DOGE has "full and prompt access to all unclassified agency records, software systems, and IT systems," which appear to include the Treasury payment systems.

Musk has previously slammed rising national debt as an existential threat to the country, while DOGE has already made progress in rooting out bull**** programs established by Democrat administrations.

I also saw where Don Stranosa said that Gaza needed a "clean out."

He said, “You’re talking about a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing.”

So more ethnic cleansing. I guess the future of democracy depends on it.8-[

So many things point to more of the same. This country is so far gone that people applaud him for saying that there are only two genders. Maybe next he'll say grass is green and the sky is blue.

On a positive note, at least the J6 hostages were freed.

What the DOGE team discovered.

Here's how The Washington Post processes that: "Senior U.S. official exits after rift with Musk allies over payment system/A top Treasury career staffer, David A. Lebryk, announced his retirement. Surrogates of Musk’s DOGE effort had sought access to sensitive payment systems":

Musk has sought to exert sweeping control over the inner workings of the U.S. government... It is unclear precisely why Musk’s team sought access to those systems. But both Musk and the Trump administration more broadly have sought to control spending in ways that far exceed efforts by their predecessors and have alarmed legal experts.... [T]he possibility that government officials might try to use the federal payments system — which essentially functions as the nation’s checkbook — to enact a political agenda is unprecedented, said Mark Mazur, who served in senior Treasury Department roles during the Obama and Biden administrations. “This is a mechanical job — they pay Social Security benefits, they pay vendors, whatever. It’s not one where there’s a role for nonmechanical things, at least from the career standpoint. Your whole job is to pay the bills as they’re due,” Mazur said. “It’s never been used in a way to execute a partisan agenda. … You have to really put bad intentions in place for that to be the case.”

Here's the NYT: "Treasury Official Quits After Resisting Musk’s Requests on Payments/Elon Musk’s cost-cutting team sought access to the government’s vast payment system, part of its bid to choke off federal funding":

Mr. Lebryk’s abrupt departure raises questions about whether Mr. Musk will now gain control of the payment system — and, if so, how he could use it. His exit also underscores the extraordinary amount of power that Mr. Musk, whose current employment status inside the federal government remains unclear, is accumulating at the opening of the second Trump administration.... He has told Trump administration officials that he aims to take control of the Treasury computers used to complete payments in order to identify fraud and abuse, according to three people familiar with his remarks.

The Treasury Department executes payments on behalf of agencies across the government, disbursing $5.4 trillion, or 88 percent of all federal payments, in the last fiscal year.... Former Treasury officials said they were not aware of a political appointee ever seeking access to details of the payment system, which includes reams of sensitive personal information about American citizens. Control of the system could give Mr. Musk’s allies the ability to unilaterally cut off money intended for federal workers, bondholders and companies, and open a new front in the Trump administration’s efforts to halt federal payments....

The decision by Mr. Musk’s efficiency team to integrate into the federal government, rather than set up an outside body, has been driven by its view that burrowing into the existing U.S. Digital Service will give it greater visibility into federal spending....

“My experience with DOGE has been totally wild so far. I told you yesterday about the $600 million per year the Pentagon was spending on Sushi... Well, I just found another wild one! The Air Force was spending $1,280 per paper coffee cup! Like literally those ones you find at the office. $1280!!! We also found that $230k per month was being spent by the IRS on Starbucks Cinnamon Roast K Cups, but everyone was working from home!
Anyway, back to work! Have a great day!”
