Fried eggplant & spicy ranch dip for lunch, burgers and fries for dinner. Nothing too spectacular today. We're tired.

Pleasant weather, not hot at all. Have been getting a lot of rain the last week, which is good for the corn and other veggies we just put in, but it also made the grass grow a lot.

Supposed to be dry and extremely hot this upcoming week. We'll be back to watering the garden for sure.

Not much else going on around here. Still growing and mowing. 6 months down, 4 to go.

December and January are the only two months nothing happens around here. I love those 2 months. Lol

You guys have a good weekend.

FAN-FRANKING-TISTIC finish in the Mixed 4x400m relays!

Today is the first day that I’ve watched any of the Olympics.

Few more minutes and then onto the weekend chores.

Opened a PO box. Went grocery shopping for family birthday party tomorrow. Fixed the boy's go kart again. Mowed the lawn. Shipped out some cigars. Received, labeled, spreadsheeted, and put away some cigars. Paid bills. Ordered mower parts. Ground some beef trimmings for burgers tonight. Washed dishes.

I'm done for the day I think.

Trying to talk myself into pruning and weeding. Kinda warm though. Maybe I'll just think about it for a while

I'm tired thinking about all that. Watching the Olympics and doing my imitation of the floating events in da pool. It's 110 now so the big cantilever umbrella is deployed.

Wasn't done for the day, we went swimming, then grilled burgers. Now I'm done.

Edit: nope. Gotta make the smoked queso dip for family birthday party tomorrow.

Eventually I'll sit on the patio and have a fire and a cigar.

As the saying goes... cats have 9 lives. If you were a cat, how many lives do you have left?

I can identify 3 times where I have cheated death. So that leaves me with 6 more but I don't want to test the 9 lives thingy.

There is a small airport a couple towns away that has a skydiving stuff. Kinda curious on signing up for a jump... then again maybe not. Jumping out of a plane kinda scares me.

I really really wanted to skydive several years ago, but never got around to it. Chronic soreness from old injuries, and disturbingly long recovery time from more recent ones has greatly mitigated this desire

100 zone minutes and 11,500 steps before 9am.

Let's see... car accident with my buddy, no seatbelt... 1 life. Car accident with my mom, no seatbelt... 2 lives. 6 months in Iraq with ST3... that's at least 1 more. 80% clogged LAD artery... prolly another.

I got 5 left. [gonzo]

This may sound kinda demented but I'm thinking of buying a set of tickets for my 2 kids to skydive for a gift. It's $250 per person for a tandem jump ant the local skydiving place. Then additional cost for stuff video shots and things.

When I say demented I mean it in a kind way. I'm too chicken $hit to skydive but I'm OK with buying a gift certificate for my kids to jump out of a plane?

Christmas morning as they wake up to unwrap gifts... Hey look... Santa gave each of you a pass to jump out of a plane.

Wifey gave me a gift to jump years ago. Pretty sure she thought I wouldn't come back but I survived.

Her dad did a tandem jump at 96 and loved it.

Yeah, I'm sure it's super safe. It's probably more risky to drive a car than it is to go skydiving. If I signed up, I would defiantly need some encouragement to jump. As I understand it, it's a great experience.

It's on the bucket list... for my kids to experience skydiving.
