Good Valentine's Day Friday to All!

Heed DED's advice. No cards in our house today. During our three hour drive home yesterday we both realized we forgot to get each other a Valentine card. Solution? We shook hands not but a card. We saved about $20+ for cards, they are ridiculously expensive.

Got stopped at the entrance there many years ago.. emergency vehicles went flying into the tunnel but I couldn't see anything.. couple hours later they let traffic go but there was no sign of a wreck or anything.. 😟

Planning on what to cook this weekend. Weather forecast says it'd gonna be a sucky snow and rain Sunday. I usually cook a few different things on the weekends and make sure there are plenty of leftovers. Eat when done, refrigerate and/or freeze single serving portions for lunches during the week. This weekend is pulled pork and chilli.

Bought a pork shoulder last weekend but didn't have room in the freezer to put it. Told my Son to put it on the back deck and let mother nature freeze it. I'll cook it next weekend. Mother nature did her job and froze it. She also sent us some snow and freezing rain to seal the deal. No worries, it's vacuum sealed. Tried to go get it off the deck tonight but we didn't shovel off the deck. I can't open the deck door open more than a couple inches (swinging door, not a slider) to get at the pork shoulder. It's only like a foot of snow but it's encrusted with ice on top. I can see the hunk of pork peaking at me covered in snow and ice but I can't get at it.

Long story short, or short story long, I'll buy another pork shoulder tomorrow to make my pulled pork this weekend. Damn snow and ice.

On the positive side, there's a 5 lb-er hunk of pork shoulder frozen on my deck sitting there laughing at me until the snow/ice melts.

I'm patient.. I will have the last laugh.

Question is... Carolina style BBQ (vinegar based) or the more common tomato based BBQ?

Mornin Ram and all. A nice 47/69 going on. A 5 miler for me and then a 20 miler for the '65 later. Gonna start looking for a new bed this weekend as our is about 15 years old.
