Sadly i have first hand knowledge of kids in my area that if it wasnt for charity of friends they would... we found out several years ago my daughters best friend only had 2 meals a day. the free breakfast and lunch she got at school. luckily at the time the schools here also had food packs for kids in the summer, they could pick it up on monday and it would be food for the week. many times we had to take her to get it because her mohter wouldnt or couldnt... we would also supliment with additional items.

Every person here on the free lunch program that is here illegally departs, there will be that many more meals for American citizen children getting lunch................ as long as they go to school yearround.

It would also increase the quality of education for the students and the Summer Educational Hangover would be eliminated.

A double win.

I do actually agree with deportation of anyone here illegally... as long as our constitution is followed, due process is give, it is done in a humane way, and on case by case basis excpetions are made for special circumstances... however, i also think that case by case a btter path to legal status may be the better thing in the long run for anyone that has shown to be in good legal standing other than the misdameanor or simple civil violations related to overstayed visas and entering illgally... for example. a person that has been in the country for a verifiable length of time (pick one, 1 year? 5 years? 10 years?) and has no criminal record outside of minor traffic violations should be given a path to legal status...

as far as year round school? i am all for it... summer break historicly was for agriculteral reasons. not really needed any more. extended 2-3 week breaks one in spring, summer, fall, and winter should be given with year round school otherwise. the only large downside to this is tourism suffers a bit as all families with children will be taking vaction at the same time meaning some locations see less traffic that historicly rely on the summer boom to survive the rest of the year and the cost of traveel and hotels will go up during those break periods based on demand. it will require pardigm shift and buisness model adaptation which could cause an issue in the short term.
