Don't put a fork in him just yet!

Remember, he said he wasn't running in 2004. These clowns are mixers of semantics. Real 3 card monte players. The only problem is that he's dealing with only one card!

So long, been good to know you, so long!!!!!!! So what? Maybe he will give away signed copies of his book since nobody is buying the damn drivel!

I thought the Democrats would use him for the sacrificail goat in the 2994 election, but maybe they have ideas that they have a chance based on Sen Trent Lott and his big dumb mouth!

Maybe when Al is 75 or so he can jump in a Senate Race at the last minute and save the day.

"Goodbye, Al Gore ??? ... Oh, if it were only true ...

I'm afraid we'll only be able to truly say "bye, Al" on the day of his funeral ... he's not actually going anywhere very far away for very long anytime soon, that's (sadly) for sure. All Al knows is feeding at the public trough ... he was born in DC where his Dad, Albert Gore Sr was in the House and Senate from 1939 to 1971 ... Al was born in DC and ran representing Tennessee only because that was where Dad was from ... he's never lived in regular society and is totally out of touch with reality as the rest of us know it ...

I'm quite sure the Founding Fathers didn't envision carreer politicians ... they saw a succession of citizens stepping forward, serving the public for a term, then returning to private life ... but Al has no private life to return to ... he's lost and looking for something to do and when he runs out of experiments, his "return" will be to the political scene that is all he's ever known ...

Do any of you listen to Michael Savage? He is a syndicated, conservative radio talk show host, out of San Francisco. He says Gore is Making a lot of money speaking around the country. He'd have to pay me to sit and listen to Garbage! Hopefully Steve is wrong.

He's a leech that's lost his host.

He can't help himself. It's all he knows, it's the Family business.

He's not going to change either. He'll be backbiting the Right, and reminding us about the popular votes that he managed to get. Now if we could only get Hillary to drink the same Kool-Aid that Algore drank the world would be a better place!

He has cleared the way for a Hillary run at the presidency.

Chuckle out loud and long about "Hills" running for President!

Al Gore or Algore loves to talk about his many years of public/government service...I like to think of it as drawing from the public tit!!!!

Hillary running is a frightening thought ...

I didn't care much for Bill, but he looks damn good in contrast to her ... he at least is pretty much a populist ... she's an extreme leftist with some near socialist/communist points of view ...

If she'd had her way with the National Health care plan that was considered 10 years ago, we'd be standing in line at the post office or the DMV for our health care ... that alone should scare any reasonable person, but the fact that such thinking appeals to so many of the brain-dead in our society, makes her in my book, a scary candidate ...

SteveS is exactly right, IMHO. He is born to it. It's the only life he knows. Y'all should know not to believe ANY politician EVER! Their main goal in life is to be elected or re-elected and will say whatever serves that purpose at that time.

Ditto Mag,

Guys a loser, couldn't even carry his and willy's states.

If he had resigned as VP saying he refused to work for immorale/crooked scum bucket Clinton, I would have had respect for him.

Rick also right about Lott, don't need scum bucket bigot either. See Rick I can agree with your apinion at times. when you have good basis.

One Democrat, One Republican, Both Losers

I missed hearing exactly what it was Trent Lott said ... Oh, I know, he's being castigated for having bought into the racially biased platform in Strom's 1948 campaign, but did any of you actuall SEE this speech or hear it ???

Did Lott come right out and say that the country would've been better off to have continuing segragation or did he just make some general remark along the lines of 'the country would've been better served if someone with Strom's ability had been elected' ... ???

To illustrate my question, let me say that I like and admire Rickamaven ... he's a good guy with a lot on the ball and many of us could be benefitted by the wisdom he's accumulated in his life ...

Now, while that's an absolute, iron-clad fact, it does not say or imply that I endorse Rick's liberal political view points ...

So, is this flap about Lott based on something he actually said or on something his detractors have read into what he said ... ????

thank you steves.

why does anyone care what al gor has to say about anything? i wathed him for a few moments. the charisma, the frankness, the charm, the same old pontificating, dull, looking over the top of the crowd and not making eye contact, that deep resounding voice, al.

the metamorphosis is complete and he still is a caterpillar.

Trent Lott has said that things would be different & maybe better, if Strom would would have won the election. He NEVER said that segregation was the reason why it would be better. But since Strom's platform was partially run on a segregation basis, That is what everone is running with.
I still think he made a mistake endorsing his running at that time, especially since he had to know what he stood for at the time.
Also Lott has NEVER said these endorsments without Strom present. He was trying to cheer the old guy up the times he has said these things. He has never done it in a Political speech. At least thats what Ive heard. Im not old enough to know 1st hand. Fox News seems to be fair & equal in reporting. Thats where I got that information.
Now I dont like that he wasnt aware that these remarks would bring up this much controversy. I think in that way he was very dumb. I would like to see him step down as Majority Leader, but not Quit the senate. His state will take care of that if they dont want him anymore.
Each of us has said something we wish we could take back.He has said he is sorry dozens of times. I will watch his actions closely now, but I'm putting it to rest.
